Netflix Options Show Prospect for Full Reversal of Disney+ Rout

More than a quarter of Netflix open interest is due to expire in the wake of Tuesday afternoon’s first-quarter release, with bullish calls outweighing bearish puts. Netflix has historically posted very wide post-earnings price swings, averaging 13 percent since 2008. Netflix shares have fallen around 5.5 percent since the Disney analyst meeting where the media giant announced a $6.99 per month offering that would compete directly with Netflix’s core business.

Apple's TV Box Will Probably Get Disney+, Despite Rival Platform

The new Disney+ app will “in all likelihood be available through traditional app distributors, Apple being one of them,” Disney chief Bob Iger said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s Emily Chang. While the studio behind “Star Wars” and Marvel movies said during an earlier presentation that consumers will be able to subscribe on Roku and PlayStation, it held back from naming others.
