Banking: Bank Account Frozen

My question involves personal finance in the State of: California. So...I tried to access my bank account, and found out today that it is frozen, due to my being the victim of a bank fraud scam. I still have bills that need to be paid this month, as the investigation by the bank will take at least 30 days. Should I start another bank account as a temporary measure during this time? Thanks!

The chief justice’s 2018 year-end report: The federal judiciary and #MeToo

Chief Justice John Roberts released his annual report on the federal judiciary today, focusing on the judiciary’s response to allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace. Roberts had discussed this issue in his 2017 report, after several female law clerks accused Judge Alex Kozinski – then a prominent judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit – of inappropriate sexual conduct. A working group created to review the safeguards in place to protect law clerks and other employees c...

My question involves real estate located in the State of: North Carolina. There is a mobile home in my neighborhood that has been abandoned for 4 years. The man that owned it passed away and the woman that lived there was evicted 4 years ago for not paying lot rent. Hikma has petitioned the Supreme Court for review of this important eligibility case.  In its decision, the Federal Circuit drew a fine line between Vanda’s personalized medical treatment claims (adjudged eligible) and the methods found in Mayo and Ariosa (adjudged ineligible).  Question presented (long form): This Court has repeatedly held that “natural phenomena[] and abstract ideas are not patentable” under Section 101 of the Patent Act. Repair and Maintenance: Can You Deny Entry or Claim Improper Notice if There is a Typo on Written Notice

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Wisconsin If you have written notice on your door which states the landlord's intention to enter for purposes of routine inspection, can you deny the landlord entry or hold them responsible for improper entry if there is a typo on the date they intend to enter? More specifically, if they listed a date and time in early December of 2019, but it's highly likely they meant January of 2019, is the notice still valid if they show up in Janua...

U.S. Strategic Command tweets nuclear war joke on New Year's Eve

Happy nuke year, everyone! Man, the Trump administration's recklessness really makes people feel like they can just say whatever they want with no consequences. Apparently, Donald Trump's penchant for reckless tweets is contagious, and has spread to United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), which is part of the Department of Defense. “#TimesSquare tradition rings in the #NewYear by dropping the big ball...if ever needed, we are #ready to drop something much, much bigger,” tweeted US St...

Speaking of white men not "reflecting the gender and racial diversity" we've come to expect in liberal America — see previous post — look at what just came in the email from CNN?

No Kathy?! I knew that was happening, but they're not replacing her with a woman? There was a rumor that the replacement was going to be Leslie Jones (a black woman):Griffin says she heard from a few different people a hosting rumor. “The hilarious @Lesdoggg (Leslie Jones) was in talks to co-host CNN’s New Year’s telecast with Anderson Cooper this year,” Griffin wrote. “I was elated when I heard this news. If I can’t get the gig, I will cheer for Leslie.”... But then Griffin says Jones was iced ...
