Why did The Southern Poverty Law Center fire Morris Dees?

The Alabama Political Reporter has this:[I]nternal emails obtained by APR related to Dees’ firing appear to show that the problems — which employees said spanned from sexual harassment to gender- and race-based discrimination — were more systemic and widespread, creating an atmosphere over several years in which female and minority employees felt mistreated. The employees also said that they felt their complaints were either not heard or resulted in retaliation from senior staff. The spark that i...

What Would Be Taxes from Selling a Fixer Upper That My Minor Son Inherited

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Virginia My minor son inherited a fixer upper. While waiting my son to turn 18 I fixed it up to increase it’s value. I worry that the taxes could be real high from selling it. Would it be a good idea to move to fixer upper and sell a current house (living here since 2005) to reduce the taxes for selling a real estate? Thank you.

"'I don’t really,' Trump said when asked... whether white nationalists were a growing global threat. 'I think it’s a small group of people that have very, very serious problems. It’s certainly a terrible thing.'"

WaPo reports.Trump said he had not seen a manifesto, purportedly from one of the attackers, that named him as an inspiration for white identity ideology.... The alleged shooter wrote that he was a supporter of Trump in one sense but not completely: “As a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose? Sure. As a policymaker and leader? Dear god no.” In the document, the man also stated that he was following the example of notorious right-wing extremists, including Dylann Roof, who killed n...

Justices add constitutional question to citizenship case

On April 23, the Supreme Court will hear oral argument in the challenge to the decision to reinstate a question about citizenship on the 2020 census. The justices had originally granted review to decide whether that decision violated federal laws governing administrative agencies, but today the justices announced that they will also consider whether the decision violates the Constitution. The justices’ order adding the constitutional issue to the case came four days after U.S. Solicitor General ...

Medical Malpractice: In-House Review

My question involves malpractice in the state of AZ Why do some malpractice attorneys do in-house reviews and then send it to an expert and some don't. I am sure every attorney's office reviews the records before sending it to the expert. Has it to with the number of staff they have/ the amount of malpractice work they do as opposed to other personal injury work. In other words the question is if the attorney says ' in-house review favorable' what does that mean.. Am I reading too much into ...

Compensation and Overtime: Comp Time

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California. We have in place a comp policy where you can make up your time. Sometimes when we make up our time it equals over time - is that allowed? Or are they required to pay us the over time or can we calculate the time to be made up in terms of the hours - example - took a day off (7.5 hrs) and then each day worked my regular time plus an hour of time making it up - .5 equal extra time - then after 8 hours it is over time wh...

"[Elizabeth] Holmes, the ousted Theranos founder who was indicted last year on federal fraud charges for hawking an essentially imaginary product to multi-millionaire investors, pharmacies, and hospitals, speaks in a deep baritone..."

"... that, as it turns out, is fake. Former co-workers of Holmes told The Dropout, a new podcast about Theranos’s downfall, that Holmes occasionally 'fell out of character' and exposed her real, higher voice — particularly after drinking.... Holmes is obviously guilty of many more serious crimes, but faking one’s voice is just weird, and embarrassing, in much the same way that bad toupees are: they place one’s bodily insecurities center stage.... Personally, the episode has brought me back to an...

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: WA School zone ...21 in a 20 ;-( What are the odds this will stand if contested? The officer didn't provide any paperwork. No agree to appear either written or verbal. He said I'll see something in the mail. I don't think he has me on SMD. He got the car in front of me and told me I was "going about the same speed". Case study on the Ginsburg conspiracy theories in action

#WheresRuth. Even as the answer – working from home while recovering from cancer surgery – was covered by journalists and confirmed by the Supreme Court itself, this hashtag and similar ones populated Twitter in January and February. False allegations about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s status ranged from standard political rumors (e.g., that she planned to announce her retirement soon) to massive conspiracy theories (e.g., that she was in a medically induced coma or that her death was being hid...
