Fantasy football players to watch in Week 11 in the NFL

FANTASY PLAYER OF THE WEEK Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys: It’s amazing what a change of scenery can do for a talented receiver. Since arriving with the Cowboys, Cooper has 18 targets. Last Sunday night, against the Eagles, he was consistently open, and this week, he’ll face the league’s worst defense in passing DVOA. The Falcons have been torched by top receivers this season. Two weeks ago, they gave up 124 yards to Washington’s Maurice Harris. If Cooper continues to be a focal point in the game pla...

Heisler: Eastern Conference could be waking from its coma … and other surprises

Not to give away our secrets but the way it works, pundits spend half the time telling you what’s going to happen. The other half, we spend telling you if we got anything right. Actually, I rate people in the biz according to their willingness to acknowledge mistakes and bad calls … like last spring when I said Doc Rivers would be gone. Sorry, Doc. In that spirit, here are some surprises, early as it is to make judgments, or as it would be if I didn’t have a column due. • The Eastern Conference ...

Penguins hope Brassard can replace Crosby against Senators

The timing is good for the Ottawa Senators to be facing a team that has traditionally given them trouble. The Pittsburgh Penguins (7-7-3) will be without captain Sidney Crosby and in a two-game slide that has left them last in the Eastern Conference when they provide the opposition Saturday night at Canadian Tire Centre. Crosby, who has 43 points in 38 career games against the Senators, is expected to miss a week with an upper-body injury.
