SEOUL, South Korea — North and South Korean troops exchanged fire along their tense border on Sunday, the South’s military said, blaming North Korean soldiers for targeting a guard post. Horse racing: Secretariat wins Triple Crown showdown

Seattle Slew led for most of the race but had to settle for third after being overtaken by the victorious chestnut stallion, who won the Triple Crown in 1973 and whose story inspired a Disney film in 2010. Citation, who won the Triple Crown in 1948 and was the first race horse to earn $1 million, came in second. The Triple Crown consists of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes and was most recently won by Justify in 2018.

Motorcyclist dies in Castaic crash

CASTAIC — A man believed in his mid-30s died Saturday when his motorcycle crashed in the center divider of the 5 Freeway in Castaic, authorities said. The crash was reported about noon on the southbound 5 Freeway, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, said California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Brandt. It appeared the man lost control of the motorcycle, Brandt said. No further information was available.
