61-year-old man fatally shot in Sylmar, suspect sought

Authorities Tuesday, Dec. 8, continued to try to identify who fatally shot a 61-year-old man found wounded outside a Sylmar home. Mario Noriega was shot about 6 p.m. Monday at the 14400 block of Rex Street, in a residential area near Polk Street and the 210 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He ran up to a nearby home and collapsed outside the doorway, and was later pronounced dead, police said. Noriega did not live at the home, and a motive for the shooting was unknown. No...
