About defensive mode

Hi, coach! If only some of my topspins fails then I continue to play in an offensive mode. I noticed that if my 3-4 topspins in a row fail (go off the table, to the net)  then I start to play in a defensive mode. Although I choose only good moments to do topspin. Especially vs players with pimples. I start to play only with chops like old days (10 years ago) when I didn't know what is topspin. Against some players this strategy worked good. But sometimes I lose badly even to those I usually win....

Kings’ Gabe Vilardi says latest long layoff was highly productive

For most of the Kings, spending 10 months away from the ice felt foreign and novel. But for Gabe Vilardi, a long layoff was old hat following a back condition that disrupted his career over the past three seasons. Vilardi was the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, and he was projected to go even higher by many experts. He was also seen as a potential asset to the powerhouse Canadian junior national program. But his career has been stifled by injuries, primarily a back condition. He was lim...

Immigrants and their advocates in Southern California are excited and hopeful about the prospects of sweeping immigration reform that could come shortly after President-elect Joe Biden is sworn into office. The new president is expected to reverse a slew of Trump administration policies, and introduce legislation that could give millions of people living in the country illegally a chance to become citizens after an eight-year process. Some actions are expected quickly, via executive order and ot...

Rams look at Raheem Morris for defensive coordinator role

Veteran NFL coach Raheem Morris has emerged as a candidate for the Rams’ defensive coordinator job left vacant when Brandon Staley was hired as the Chargers’ head coach this week. Morris, who went 4-7 as the Atlanta Falcons’ interim coach after taking over a winless team this season, was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ coach in 2009-11. He was those teams’ defensive coordinator as well as head coach. The Rams asked the Falcons for permission to interview Morris, a Rams source said Tuesday. But a hirin...

Lakers could face a season-long battle with complacency

Even after frittering away a massive lead on national TV on Monday night, the Lakers were sensitive to a certain dirty word that described the performance. Complacency. While a clearly frustrated Coach Frank Vogel admitted to the team being “a little casual” on offense during a second half when the Lakers were outscored by 18 points by the Golden State Warriors, he said the way the Lakers started the game, taking a 19-point lead, showed they weren’t “complacent.” When asked directly if the 115-1...

We got our vaccinations a few days after the first Long Beach seniors got their shots at the city’s healt...

Leicester 2-0 Chelsea tonight. After such a poor Chelsea performance the big Chelsea news is that it's crunch time for Frank Lampard and the Chelsea board in addition to being between Frank Lampard and the players.  Asked about his future, Lampard told Sky Sports: "It's not my decision, that's something that will always be there. You always understand some things are beyond your control. Things you can control are going again, lifting the players and working hard. That, I can't answer.  "...

How should I hit a loop back when I have pushed long and the opponent looped it towards me. I tried to keep myself low and return with a controlled topspin. But on my backhand the ball seems to bounce a lot high on my return and reaches deep, which is then smashed easily. Sometimes it touches the edge of my racquet. Any help?
