Veteran LA County Sheriff’s sergeant dies of illness related to COVID-19

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s sergeant who had worked for the department nearly 25 years died from an illness related to COVID-19, the department announced Wednesday, Feb. 17. Sgt. Coronavirus: Hospitalizations in L.A. County continue to decline, with 2,394 new cases and 162 new deaths reported as of Feb. 17

Los Angeles public health officials reported 109 fewer patients hospitalized in local hospitals, lowing the number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations to 2,855 as of Wednesday, Feb. 17.
