Lakers’ Jared Dudley out with torn right MCL, still evaluating treatment options

Last month after writing disapprovingly of Paul George, Jared Dudley found himself under fire. Critics asked what gave Dudley, an NBA journeyman, the right to question a bonafide All-Star. In one of his famous marathon media sessions, a reporter put that question to Dudley, 35, who found it hard to keep a grin from spreading across his face. “I don’t know what gives me the right,” he said facetiously.  “Fourteen years, 900 games, played with over 25 Hall of Famers. Grammys 2021: H.E.R. surprises with Song of the Year win for “I Can’t Breathe’

The experts didn’t expert H.E.R. to have much of a chance for Song of the Year at this year’s Grammys;  Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and Beyoncé were all considered more likely winners of the Grammy that goes to the writers of the song. But when host Trevor Noah opened the envelope, it was H.E.R.’s name he read. (Co-writers Dernst Emile II and Tiara Thomas, the latter of whom accompanied H.E.R. to the stage, shared in the win.) “I Can’t Breathe” is a song with much social relevance, as it was inspire...

Wings Need More Shots On Net

from Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News, ...the Hurricanes did a lot of things well, especially shutting down the Wings, who didn't help themselves by simply not shooting the puck on several scoring occasions. "For the first part of the game we checked pretty well, we didn't give up a whole bunch of chances, our defensive zone coverage was better," coach Jeff Blashill said. "We competed hard. We were sloppy, though, with the puck. Then, we didn't have a close enough shooting m...

Grammys 2021: Taylor Swift, In Memoriam tributes and the iconic Troubadour gets the spotlight

Performances, rather than awards, are the heart of Sunday’s 63rd Grammy Awards telecast, and so it remained on Sunday when the first hour of the broadcast delivered live gems from Taylor Swift, the Bruno Mars-Anderson Paak Silk Sonic, and Dua Lipa. Swift performed on a rustic set, opening with “cardigan” while lying on what looked like the moss-covered roof of a backwoods shack. Then with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner joining her on acoustic guitars inside the shack, Swift slipped quickly thro...
