World's Largest Chip Foundry TSMC Sets 2050 Deadline To Go Carbon Neutral

An anonymous reader quotes a report from Ars Technica: TSMC announced last week that it would flatten its emissions growth by 2025 and reach net-zero carbon by 2050. That'll be a tall order for a company that produced over 15 million tons of carbon pollution last year across the entire scope of its operations, about the same as the country of Ghana. Though the amount of carbon pollution per wafer produced by TSMC has declined in recent years, surging demand for semiconductors has driven overall ...

MIT study finds Tesla drivers become inattentive when Autopilot is activated

By the end of this week, potentially thousands of Tesla owners will be testing out the automaker’s newest version of its “Full Self-Driving” beta software, version 10.0.1, on public roads, even as regulators and federal officials investigate the safety of the system after a few high-profile crashes. A new study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology lends credence to the idea that the FSD system, which despite its name is not actually an autonomous system but rather an advanced driver as...

Peter Thiel Claims Zuckerberg Agreed To Push 'State-Sanctioned Conservatism' Under Trump Deal

2021 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid review: The Swiss Army knife of the Porsche lineup

Photo credit: Stefan Ogbac / When the Porsche Cayenne first appeared in the early 2000s, it ruffled so many feathers because a crossover wearing a Porsche crest was supposedly blasphemous. This crossover expanded Porsche’s appeal to a broader range of consumers and it proved that a high-riding four-door didn’t dilute its DNA. Electrified versions ha...
