Google Apps – the Pros and Cons

I bet you love the Google Apps as much as I do.  (And, maybe like me, you at times hate them?!?) I especially love the popular ones  the Google apps. Gmail. Drive. Alerts. Search. Analytics. Images. Calendar. There are many that I personally (and professionally) use every day. I hate when I rely too much on them. With all the power and nuances of apps within the apps, it’s easy to make them part of your daily work process. Do you use the features inside Drive with Docs, Presentation, Sheets and ...

With just a few seconds to capture the attention of your audience, it can be tempting to assume that focusing exclusively on the production of short-form video content will help you to communicate core marketing messaging and...

Treat Customer Data Like You’d Want Yours to Be Treated

Last Christmas, I bought a friend of mine a subscription to a science and culture magazine. But then other magazines offers started to arrive in the mail. Then came requests for donations from charitable groups. Next, travel agency ads. And then came the political mailers. Once she activated her digital subscrip...

Warning: Brexit before the links. As ever, please feel free to skip if it’ll make you cross. W hat happens when a farce turns into farce? Is there a negation, and then rationality reigns? If so we’re not there yet with Brexit. Government ministers voting and whipping against their own motions – and still losing. Do Adjacent Organic Search Results Constitute Trademark Infringement? Of Course Not…But…–America CAN! v. CDF

One of the screenshots from the complaint A charitable fundraising organization, America CAN!, has a registered trademark in the phrase “Write off the car, not the Kid.” The organization purports to help the education of high risk youths, and it claims that “100% of the net proceeds go to the kids.” So the “kid” in the trademarked phrase appears to refer to disadvantaged youths, not tax writeoffs for being a parent. As a parent, the pun didn’t work for me. The lawsuit relates to Make-a-Wish Nor...
