A Sweet Taste of Marrakesh

After an incredible lunch at Nomad where the menu is a perfect blend of traditional recipes served with a modern hand richly flavorful. The menu changes as the products are sourced locally, served fresh and are made on spot. I savored each bite. After the meal, we had mint tea as we looked through the dessert menu. I am not a sweet eater and ice cream is lost on me though the dessert menu was intriguing and miles away from disappointing.  The ice cream read like an exotic novel, Hibiscus flow...

KY eats – Curry Pork Rice, Ji Yang Restaurant, Sungai Kapar, Klang

A couple weeks ago, I had the slight unfortunate fortune of being involved in a minor accident. The Malaysian system is such that you can’t go to just any police station to make reports, but certain specific traffic police station to do the deeds (eh, upgrade already please), which explained how I got to this part of town in Klang – Sungai Kapar. Restoran Ji Yang, Sungai Kapar After having sorted out the reports with authority, it was quite a bit past my initial dinner time, so naturally I wand...

Sunday Firesides: The Last Great Adventure

Just thirty years ago, the only photos you’d have seen of travel destinations were in pamphlets or books checked out from the library. Without the aid of review sites, you were never entirely sure what kind of hotel you’d booked or what kind of experience you’d have at a restaurant. Just a hundred years ago, there still remained a few “firsts” for the most daring of explorers to discover. First time charting an Amazonian river. First time reaching the South Pole. Today, you can use Google Maps...

My 5 Favorite Hostels in Melbourne

Posted: 1/5/2020 | January 5th, 2020 Melbourne is the backpacker hub of Australia. It’s laid-back vibe, awesome live music scene, and rowdy nightlife make it a favorite for backpackers and budget travelers alike. Whereas many cities Down Under are worth visiting for a few days, you could easily spend weeks here without getting bored. Since it’s a popular spot for budget travelers, the city boasts dozens of hostels to cater to the growing tourist numbers. In my decade-plus of visiting Melbourne...

Is Chile Safe to Visit?

Posted: 1/6/2020 | January 6th, 2020 Chile is one of the most popular destinations (and one of my favorites) in South America. I was blown away by the beauty of the country, the delicious and inexpensive, the plethora of different eco-systems, and how hospitable the locals were. (And, as someone who works online, how much they are investing in tech!) Owing to its diverse geography, the country offers a lot to visitors. From exploring the wilderness of Patagonia to tasting wine at boutique loca...

Watch Out For Juice Jacking of Your Portable Electronic Device

When public places — such as at the gates and lounges of airports, aboard public conveyances such as buses and airplanes, and the lobbies of hotel and resort properties as five of many examples — started offering power charging stations equipped with Universal Serial Bus ports into which anyone may plug their portable electronic devices to recharge them when their batteries are running low on power... ...but the office of... Travel: The Arizona Biltmore bears the hallmarks of Frank Lloyd Wright, who consulted on its design

If famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright had lived in our time, he’d be the ideal candidate for a reality TV show — his temperament and often-turbulent personal life meant scandals stuck to him like shingles on a roof. Many of his famous involvements have a bit of a back story. A case in point: the Arizona Biltmore hotel and resort in Phoenix, now in its 91st year. Just a short jaunt from Los Angeles, the regal and rambling 39-acre property, full of nooks and crannies and cozy perches, is a captiva...
