What I Saw at the French Antique Auction

What I saw at the French Antique auction online was so beautiful that I felt maybe it was the Louvre secretly selling off pieces. Of course, that wasn't true nevertheless the quality and the masterpieces of the antiques on auction were literally stunning and oftentimes unbelievable  that they were being auctioned and yet not scooped up by a museum. I could not afford anything though the pleasure was worth every minute spend  being gobsmacked. Here are a few pieces of art that for one reas...

Martin Orlick, Chair of JMBM's ADA Compliance & Defense Group, summarizes the recent decision i...

Before and after photos of an urban Tokyo garden and its elderly gardeners

I had the pleasure of walking past this small but well looked after urban garden on numerous occasions. Its owners, on the other hand, I only saw twice — on the two different days these photos were taken. Several years ago, however, the house was demolished, leaving behind a sad, tarpaulin covered empty plot. It stayed that way for a while, but now it’s a home again. Several homes in fact. But all signs of previous life have been completely and utterly erased.

Where The Money Is | By Benoit Gateau-Cumin

For so many years, hoteliers who made the decision to switch to club management were looked down upon by their "true hospitality" colleagues. After all, running a club used to be tantamount to regulating a flock of entitled folks proud to belong where their money would isolate them from the riffraff. A place where they could insist on keeping the Reuben on the menu and restrict access to a number of minorities including invented ones.

It has been very cold in Paris but I bundled up to meet a friend for a walk around Lake Daumesnil where we used to often take walks. Can you tell that the water is frozen? I’m not sure how thick the ice was. Many of the birds stood or rested on the ice. The reflection is of a fake moutain on the grounds of the Paris Zoo. A « Greek » temple.
