Mad Max 2

Although I knew it as The Road Warrior, the title it had in North America. What a fantastic movie, I absolutely loved revisiting it. It definitely has the same energy that I loved so much in Fury Road, and so it’s quite impressive when you consider the year it came out. The driving scenes and stunts are just so exhilarating, and those bad dudes so iconic — yes, Vernon Wells of course, but even the muscled up main bad dude with the goalie mask. I’d say it’s one of the better films from 1981...

An old lady in old Tokyo leaving her old shuttered shop

Six and a half years ago I took this photo of an old lady peering out from under the half opened shutters of her long-closed Tokyo shop. It’s now a firm favourite of mine, and it was one of those wonderful moments when I happened to be in just the right place, at just the right time. Then, just the other day, a similar scene presented itself. A cart was involved on this occasion, and no eye contact, but there are lovely colours, a sign and a certain level of symmetry. For something a bit diff...

Ireland: Guided Land Tours

Ireland: Guided Land Tours Guided land tours, in my humble opinion, are the best way to visit Ireland. You can make a quick visit to Dublin and Belfast aboard a cruise ship. Sunny Sunday

On Sundays, and especially if there is sun, Paris is full of inhabitants getting out to enjoy as much of the day as they can before the 6 PM curfew-which by the way is said in French, couvre-feu, which I’m interpreting without any actual evidence whatsoever, to mean cover the fire, maybe turn out the lights. I started out my excursion at the mairie, or town hall, where they had this delightful light fixture with the symbol of Paris in the middle. This is a relatively new building in ...

The COVID-19 outbreak began affecting the New York City lodging market in late February 2020 and, in the months that followed, led to the virtual dissipation of traditional sources of lodging demand. As an international gateway city, the complete stoppage of inbound international flights and travelers is of particular note. In this article I will address the reasons I personally feel sustainability is important in hospitality industry and why, we "Generation Z" have a reponsibility to create a sustainable Industry. Climate activist Greta Thunberg is certainly not afraid to speak truth to power.
