Earlier this week, we asked our readers to tell us what the best LEGO sets were. They might have set a new record for most comments ever on a Co-op post. Readers had some strong opinions on the subject that showed they really knew their bricks. We got too many responses to count, sending us on an odyssey as we tracked…

Hasbro is typically pretty quick about getting action figures from Marvel Studios movies into shelves. But for some reason, it’s taken a little extra time for them to give fans a Thor action figure based on his new beefy superhero appearance from Avengers: Endgame. While Marvel Legends gave The Big Lebowski version of Thor his own build-a-figure for one of their Avengers: Endgame action figure waves, this is the first time they’ve given us the chonky, braided version of Chris Hemsworth as the God Of Thunder.
Avengers: Endgame Thor Action FigureThe Avengers: Endgame Thor action figure from Marvel Legends is a deluxe release that comes with a solid assembly of accessories that will allow you to recreate a few key moments from the final battle of the end of The Infinity Saga. Complete with an electrified Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, including two lightning accessories, Thor is ready to take on Thanos with all his might.
Thanks to the inclusion of these accessories, fans will also have the chance to give Captain America a proper Mjolnir accessory that he can wield along with his vibranium shield. The translucent blue plastic makes it look like lightning is flowing through the weapon, which should allow for some incredible battle diorama scenes on your shelves.
On top of the multiple points of articulation, we’re happy to see Thor’s thick middle-section sitting proudly in his armor. It’s exactly what the God of Thunder deserves for having one of the most resonant character arcs in the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Unfortunately, the Avengers: Endgame Thor action figure is sold out for pre-order at Amazon, but you can still get an order in at Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, and Dorkside Toys. The figure will ship in August or September.

Now that is finally a reality with Hasbro’s collector’s edition Transformers Optimus Prime Auto-Converting Programmable Advanced Robot. For a cool $700, you’ll be able to get your hands on this industry-first auto-converting, interactive, programmable, voice activated, mobile controlled toy. Check out a video below that features Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes – Jay and Silent Bob themselves – debuting this toy in action from today’s Hasbro Pulse Fan Fest.
I don’t personally collect toys, but it’s pretty obvious why something like this would be of interest to people. (I’m a little bummed that it’s so expensive, because it essentially prices out kids and primarily makes it available for older people with tons of disposable income, but I guess that’s fairly standard in the toy industry these days. And yes, I am aware that I am genuinely doing a “won’t somebody think of the children?” thing here.) Adults, or maybe very rich children, can pre-order this bad boy for $699 at Hasbro Pulse right now.
The toy stands at 19 inches tall and comes stocked with 80 sound effects including the classic “converting” sound. The voice work of the character is by Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime, and thanks to the two microphones embedded into the toy itself, it responds to your own voice controls in robot and truck mode. It comes with a Battle Axe and Blaster, and the official website says it contains “the world’s most advanced collection of premium materials assembled together with over 5000 components, 60 microchips and 27 servo motors making this a one-of-a-kind, Collector’s experience!”

Rather than getting some stills directly from the movie or even some set pics, our first real look at Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins comes in the form of…toys. Perhaps the powers that be assumed that since G.I. Joe originated as a toy series it only makes sense to give us our first glimpse of the new G.I. Joe movie in toy form. Perhaps not. In any case, if you’re interested in seeing tiny plastic effigies of Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Samara Weaving, and more, please keep on reading.
There have been numerous times where we accidentally get our first look at an upcoming blockbuster via a leaked image of some toys. But that’s not what’s happening here – the images you’re about to see aren’t leaked; they’re official, and presented directly to Entertainment Weekly. But it’s downright strange that the folks behind the upcoming Snake Eyes would prefer to give us our first real glimpse of the film’s characters in tiny toy form (to be fair, we did get an early production image that showed Henry Golding walking up some stairs, but that wasn’t exactly a great representation of the film). Why not release some official images from the production? The film has already wrapped, so I imagine it’s not very hard to scrounge up some pics. But that’s not what we’re getting – we’re getting toys instead.
First up, here’s a toy version of Henry Golding as the titular character, Snake Eyes. “I think the heart of the story really is who Snake is and his journey as a person, really. Understanding his motivations,” Golding told EW. “I can’t give away too much, but it really focuses on the one person instead of having 20 people on screen and understanding background. We start from the beginning. And, hopefully, this launches an amazing franchise.” In G.I. Joe lore, Snake Eyes is a silent ninja – but I think it’s safe to assume the movie is going to have him speak, otherwise they wouldn’t have cast an actor of Golding’s caliber.
Next, here’s a toy featuring a likeness of Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, the arch-enemy of Snake Eyes.
This is Scarlett, who is played in the movie by Samara Weaving, and I guess this kind of looks like Weaving. Sort of.
Úrsula Corberó plays Baroness in the film, and this is her action figure.
Finally, this is the figure for Haruka Abe as Akiko. You can see even more images of the figures over at EW.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins opens on July 23. Here’s a logo for the film.

Anne Thériault reports on the virality and success of coronavirus-themed toys and wonders at the never-too-soon appeal of cutesified horrors. Especially these squishie mini plague doctors [Amazon].

The minute everyone laid eyes on the Mini-Pufts from the recently released Ghostbusters: Afterlife clip I’m fairly confident we all knew they would inevitably be turned into toys. They’re tiny, cute, and part of a major franchise, so obviously the powers-that-be want to cash in on that, and who can blame them? People are clearly going to want to eat these things up (but not literally, please – they’re made of plastic). And this fall, anyone who wants one will be able to buy their own Mini-Puft.
The other day, the first clip for Ghostbusters: Afterlife arrived, and the reaction was mixed. Some folks were completely enamored with the look of the Mini-Pufts, a gaggle of tiny Stay-Puft Marshmallow Men that seem tailor-made to appeal to those who love Baby Groot/Baby Yoda/The Minions, and so on. Others – like me, a negative nelly – thought the clip was kind of disappointing. To be fair, the clip in question is completely out of context, and it may very well work better when viewed with the rest of the movie. For now, though, I remain skeptical.
No matter! The people behind Ghostbusters: Afterlife know that moviegoers/consumers are going to want their own Mini-Pufts, and Hasbro is ready to give them exactly what they want. Here’s a look at the packaging, which makes them kind of look like Play-Doh.
And here’s a look at the little creatures themselves.
Yep, pretty cute. The series consists of 1.5-inch figures that come “equipped with new mischievous personalities from the movie.” Also, it sounds like you’re going to have to dig through some goo to get to them, as the official ad copy states “Kids and collectors alike can open the Stay Puft Marshmallow can and dig into the goopy marshmallow-like compound to see which Mini-Puft figure is inside.” I don’t know about you, but I’m in no mood to dig through goopy compounds. But if you are, you’ll be able to pick these Mini-Pufts figures up this fall for $5.39.
In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, “When a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover that they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather’s secret legacy.” Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd, with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts reprise their roles from the original films. Jason Reitman, son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, directs and co-wrote the script with Gil Kenan.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife haunts theaters on November 11, 2021.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League reportedly cost around $70 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects of the director’s original vision, as well as additional photography. The original post-production crew also returned along with cast members to record additional dialogue for the cut.
With his faith in humanity restored following the sacrifice of Superman, Justice League centers on Bruce Wayne as he uses this emotional fuel to band together with Diana Prince to build a team of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — to prepare to stand together against the world-destroying threat of Steppenwolf and his maniacal master Darkseid.
The new cut of the film is based on a screenplay by Chris Terrio from an original story by Terrio, Snyder and Will Beall, and features as cast led by Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman. Also included in the ensemble roster is Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
Released in November 2017, the film earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, praising the action and performances from Gadot and Miller while criticizing every other aspect of the film, namely the inconsistent tone that many fault Joss Whedon (The Avengers) for after taking over directorial duties from Snyder. With a large budget of $300 million and a break-even point of $750 million, the film is considered a box office bomb having grossed only $658 million.
