Kings of the Yukon - An Alaskan River Journey ~ Adam Weymouth

I spent the last few weeks of 2018 paddling along the Yukon and the best thing was I didn't even know I wanted to go. Hadn't planned it in the diary, no travel insurance, no fretting about getting there. The canoe held up after a few  dicey moments over some rapids, and the grizzlies spared us. I've stopped off hither and yon and learned a lot about Alaska, a country that is the size of France, Germany, Italy and the British Isles combined (population 277 million) and yet is home to just 741,894...

BEGIN SLIDESHOW Zachary Levi talks turning down, then taking the role of Shazam! No one is as excited to be a superhero as Zachary Levi. Tracking his journey there though, takes a bit of dialing back. PB = PB || {}; PB.gptStandAlone = PB.gptStandAlone ...

We are made in the image of God

This verse in (Genesis 1:26-27) states that God made the first man and woman "in His own image". For as long as I can remember this verse has greatly intrigued me, maybe even intimidated me a bit but a constant reminder of this awesome responsibility each of us carry and what this means to be "The very image" of God himself. I would like to ask everyone what you think this means and if anyone has any special insights on this subject.

Rangers Saddled With Struggling Skjei

The New York Rangers are committed to doing everything possible to help young defenseman Brady Skjei regain his 2016-17 NHL All-Rookie Team form. The solution, however, can truly come from only one place – between Skjei’s ears. Head coach David Quinn has applied his tough love/supportive and nurturing approach. The club has tried multiple partners on the backline, and to that end might even need to consider re-signing a veteran who seemed certain to be headed out of town before the trade d...

Scripture Speaks:His First Miraculous Sign

At the start of His public ministry, Jesus attended a wedding in Cana.  Why was this the perfect setting for Him to work His first miraculous sign? Gospel (Read Jn 2:1-11) St. John tells us that after Jesus called and assembled His disciples, “there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.”  It is interesting, isn’t it, that right at the start of St. John’s description of Jesus’ public ministry, His mother gets first mention in this story. “Jesus and His disciples ...

Muslim-American Journalist Noor Tagouri Says Vogue Misrepresented Her

It's no secret that the fashion industry, and the fashion media, have a lot of work to do when it comes to true diversity and inclusivity. Vogue magazine, in particular, has come under fire in recent months for cultural missteps and mistakes. It look the title 126 years to work with a Black photographer on a cover, so it's no wonder that one of its writers could refer to Beyoncé’s hair as a “hip-length afro,” or suddenly name Timberland boots a “fresh idea” because a supermodel wore them. Designing And Using Webinar Surveys

Webinar administrators sometimes get far too “creative” when it comes to post-webinar surveys. In all honesty, you don’t need much:This is a perfectly serviceable webinar survey (as long as you actually read the submitted comments). It’s important to remember that ANYTHING you add beyond this will reduce your completion percentage. So only add questions if you plan to actively use the responses to help you improve future webinars. If you do plan to get serious about finding ways to improve your ...

Q: Dear 100 Hour Board,Why is there like no legit art of Heavenly Mother? We complain about not knowing enough about her but we don’t take the initiative of trying to artistically portray her. What’s with that? Is she too sacred to draw? It’s like she’s portrayed less than minor prophets in the Old Testament. After doing some google searches I found an exponent/sunstone link on ‘I’ve a mother there’ and found a few paintings of her. Unfortunately, most of the paintings make her look like an old ...
