Reliance Jio has introduced new recharge packs with extended validity as its current promo offers are coming to an end. The telco unveiled Rs 399 plan (for prepaid users) that will give unlimited calling, data (capped at 1 GB per day) for a 3-month duration. What stakeholders are saying on CBEC’s 10% customs duty on 4G devices

The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has proposed a 10% basic customs duty along with additional duty and cess on 4G equipment and smartphones, reports MoneyControl. Officials told PTI that “final tax demand will be decided based on the decision taken on whether it is exempt under ITA (International Trade Agreement)”. Aircel is looking to get a payments bank licence: report

Telecom operator Aircel will be applying for a payments bank licence following its merger with Reliance Communications, the Economic Times reports.
