President Bouteflika due to arrive in Algeria on Sunday amid protests

An Algerian government plane took off from Geneva's Cointrin airport and was expected to make the short flight to Algeria, where al-Arabiya Hadath TV reported a heavy security deployment between Algiers airport and the presidential residence in Zeralda, outside the capital. The Gulfstream executive jet, which had taken Bouteflika to Geneva on Feb. 24, touched down in Geneva earlier on Sunday. A source familiar with the matter told Reuters Bouteflika would return home.
