St. Vincent talks bringing ‘Daddy’s Home’ to Hollywood Bowl as ‘The Nowhere Inn’ film debuts

“Daddy’s Home,” the sixth studio album from St. Vincent, arrived in May, but Annie Clark, the artist behind the stage name, says it hasn’t felt fully finished until now. “A record doesn’t really feel complete to me until I’ve actually played the songs for people and with people in real-time,” Clark says on a recent phone call. “Because you get to see how the energy in the crowd changes. “You get to see, like, ‘Oh, they’re all singing along to that part,’” she says. “You get to know in a real way...

Lorde Pushes Back Against “Insulting” Jack Antonoff Narrative

Next week, Lorde will release her new album Solar Power. She recorded the album with Jack Antonoff, who also produced her last album, 2017’s Melodrama. As a whole lot of people have noticed, Antonoff has been doing a whole lot of work with female pop stars lately, collaborating heavily with Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Clairo, among others. But in a new interview with The New York Times‘ Joe Coscarelli, Lorde dismisses the “retro,” “sexist” idea that she’s part of “Jack’s stable.”

Watch St. Vincent Join Jack Antonoff On The Roof Of Electric Lady Studios

Jack Antonoff loves to bring people to the roof of Electric Lady Studios in New York City and make them perform. A few weeks ago, he got Lorde up there to sing her two Solar Power singles. And he recruited St. Vincent to head on up there to help him out with performing a song off his new Bleachers album Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night. She popped up for “What’d I Do With All This Faith?” to sing background vocals, though she does background vocals for a different Bleachers track on the ac...

Spotify launches a virtual concert series with The Black Keys and more

The past year has been utterly devastating to the music industry generally, and live music in particular. Artists who make a living touring have been forced to find alternative ways to make ends meet, while those among us who once frequented live events have been looking for ways to plug the hole created by wide-scale shutdowns. A number of music-related platforms have spent much of the pandemic looking to offer some semblance of the concert-going experience, ranging from live venues to services...

Bleachers – “chinatown” (Feat. Bruce Springsteen) & “45”

It’s been three years since Jack Antonoff released an album under his Bleachers moniker. But he is always around. As one of the most in-demand producers of his generation, Antonoff has been plenty busy. In this year alone, he was involved in the Chicks’ long-awaited comeback Gaslighter and Taylor Swift’s folklore — and, to be honest, was attached to some of that album’s best songs despite the newsier angle that Aaron Dessner had worked on it. All of which is to say: Yes, Antonoff is a major name...
