Default Proceeds Replaced by Default Infringement

Opinion Delayed Postponed Stamp Waiting Period Fairfax, VA – -( For most people, a NICS check is instantaneous or at least expedient. Other people are subject to a delay, which is best explained by the FBI itself: “When a NICS background check matches a record to the prospective firearms transferee, the NICS Section determines if a federal prohibitor exists. However, if a federal prohibitor does not exist, the NICS Section employee processing the background check must further r...

Should You Blur Out Serial Numbers In Gun Photos?

Yes, that’s a photo of my own Surefire FA556AR silencer and the serial number is P01239. No, I’m not particularly concerned about posting it. I’d like to buy a vowel

Looks like the Trump admin wants to take the A and the T out of ATF: Like last year, the Trump administration proposes shifting part of the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives away. Under the proposal, alcohol and tobacco enforcement would move to the Treasury Department so that ATF could focus more on guns, explosives and arson. The same proposal was made last year and went nowhere in Congress. Get rid of the F too.

Bump Stock Case Expedited by Court of Appeals in DC

Bump Stock Case Expedited by Court of Appeals in DC U.S.A. –-( The appeal by the Plaintiffs against the BATFE in the bump stock ruling has been expedited.  The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has ordered the parties to submit briefs by March 4th of 2019. Judge Gives Green Light To Trump’s Ban On Bump Stocks

Reuters: A federal judge gave the Trump administration the go-ahead on Monday to ban “bump stocks” – rapid-fire gun attachments used in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history – in a defeat for firearms rights advocates. “None of the plaintiffs’ challenges merit preliminary injunctive relief,” Washington-based District Judge Dabney Friedrich wrote in a 64-page ruling. It’s Not About New Laws; It’s about Enforcing the Ones We Have

Opinon By Larry Keane It’s Not About New Laws; It’s about Enforcing the Ones We Have USA – -( The murders in Aurora, Illinois, reveal the inability or unwillingness of many in authority to ensure that our existing laws are working. We already have the laws we need to stop the criminal misuse of guns. Draft...

Turning a Right into a Privilege: HR 1112 Gives Feds Power to Block Gun Sales

Opinion Right Delayed Rights Denied Fairfax, VA – -( H.R. 8, which would criminalize the private transfer of firearms, has received significant attention from the gun rights community. However, H.R. 1112, which purportedly targets the inappropriately-named “Charleston loophole,” is just as insidious an attack on gun owners. Both bills were passed out of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. H.R. 1112 would eliminate the 3-day safety-valve provision under the federal firea...

Politicizing the ATF

From David Codrea: During the briefing, the Chief Counsels Office provided a written brief and a PowerPoint presentation, which discussed automatically and single function of a trigger. The brief and PowerPoint presentation, based on the intent of Congress and the statutory text, detailed how even the Akins Accelerator was not a machinegun. However, Acting Director Sullivan decided, against the advice of the Chief Counsels Office, to declare the Akins Accelerator a machinegun. It was political.
