Blockchain startup Propy plans first-ever auction of a real apartment as a collectible NFT

We previously wrote about Propy using blockchain technology to smooth real-world real estate sales by introducing the concept of smart contracts. Propy was the first blockchain startup to make that work. Now the company is pushing the boundaries again, by auctioning a real apartment as an NFT. Although one might want to brush this aside as a stunt, the event is designed to make the point that it could well be done legally. And, by golly, they are going to try. The auction will be of the NFT atta...

Here’s Your Chance To Buy The Most Iconic Porsche Of All Time

When you’re collecting Porsches, it’s life. Everything before or after is just waiting. Coming this August to RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction is arguably the most iconic Porsche racing car of all time, heck you could argue this is the single most iconic racing car period. Porsche has won more Le Mans 24s than any other company, the 917 was the car that started that ridiculous winning streak. I’d argue that Porsche wouldn’t be the company it is today without the 917. And this one, one which an ent...

Rental Agencies Uncharacteristically Buying Used Cars

With rental companies coming off a particularly lean 2020, fleet downsizing turned out to be a necessity for many agencies. Unfortunately, demand for rental vehicles has begun to return and some markets have found themselves operating with an insufficient number of cars. Merrill Conversion Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle – VIDEO

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- In 1858, Congress passed the Army Appropriation Act in an attempt to “get with the times” in terms of arms advancements. They had only recently implemented the conversion of flintlock arms to percussion earlier in the decade, and European countries had begun to pass us by and move into the breechloading era. One of the ways to move forward under the 1858 act was to have traditional muzzleloaders converted to breechloaders. There were a variety of different methods out...

Prototype Briggs Gun Missing Link Between Henry and Winchester – VIDEO

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- The lever-action repeating rifle that Benjamin Tyler Henry invented was a huge step forward in arms development, but there was still room for improvement, namely in terms of the loading mechanism. Henry’s gun loaded from the muzzle and had an exposed magazine spring and follower. Loading from the muzzle presented challenges when in the prone position or on horseback, and the exposed spring and follower meant that the gun’s internals were open to dirt, sand, and other ...

Beeple’s $69 million NFT sale marks a potentially transformative moment for the art world

Today, the auction of an NFT digital art collage from a relatively unrecognized digital artist ended with a purchase price above $69 million. The work, called Everydays – The First 5000 Days, chronicled several years-worth of daily sketches from the artist Mike Winkelmann — known online as Beeple. Unlike every other work the auction house Christie’s has listed in its 250+ year history, this was a purely digital work. It’s a crazy dollar amount sure, but it’s also a tacit endorsement from the str...
