Automating CEOs is more fiscally responsible than automating labor

Over at New Statesman, writer Will Dunn (no relation) proposes an interesting cost-cutting measure to make businesses more efficient: replacing CEOs with machines. A few weeks ago Christine Carrillo, an American tech CEO, raised this question herself when she tweeted a spectacularly tone-deaf appreciation of her executive assistant, whose work allows Carrillo to "write [and] surf every day" as well as "cook dinner and read every night". […] — Read the rest

How Driverless Cars Could Lead to More Pollution

Self-driving cars are still a few years away (at least) from being available to you or me. But there’s a lot of work to do to get them ready for prime time, including ensuring their climate-friendly. A new study underscores that last part, showing that nearly one-third of people would choose an autonomous vehicle as a…Read more...

5 investors discuss the future of RPA after UIPath’s IPO

Robotic process automation (RPA) has certainly been getting a lot of attention in the last year, with startups, acquisitions and IPOs all coming together in a flurry of market activity. It all seemed to culminate with UiPath’s IPO last month. The company that appeared to come out of nowhere in 2017 eventually had a final private valuation of $35 billion. It then had the audacity to match that at its IPO. A few weeks later, it still has a market cap of over $38 billion in spite of the stock price...
