Evictions begin for 1,000 LA County renters with pre-COVID judgments

Betty Ordaz, 55, isn’t sure where to go next. She sat in the driver’s seat of her packed SUV, parked near a North Hollywood street corner where the sound of low-flying airplanes landing at Hollywood Burbank Airport echo. There she was. Just waiting, an earlier tongue-lashing that she was “lazy” reverberating in her head, even as clusters of supportive neighbors looked on Wednesday morning. They were all there waiting for the Sheriff’s Department to serve her an eviction order — to leave the home...

Comment on corn fritters by Betty

Help! I’m about to make this but I’m really confused by the corn measurement! The recipe states, “6 ears of corn (3 cups)”, but 6 ears of corn is closer to 6 cups of corn, eek! And I know Deb halved the recipe when she made it so now I’m thinking the 3 cups was a typo? I don’t know what to do! 6 ears or 3 cups?

REVIEW: Dunkaroos (2020)

The 1990s were an incredible time. The internet popped into our daily lives, the economy was lush, Disney had its animation reawakening, Nintendo and Sony ushered in the three-dimensional era, and fashion was neon and expressive.
