Developers Accuse Sony of 'Playing Favorites' With PS4's Cross-Platform Support

After years of fighting the idea, Sony announced last September it is finally bringing "cross-platform gameplay, progression, and commerce" to the PlayStation Network, with Fortnite as the first example. Months later, the company's efforts have yet to gain wide traction and now we may have identified the bottleneck: Sony. Several major third-party developers have accused the company of standing in the way of letting the PS4 versions of their games play nicely with other platforms. ArsTechnica re...

A Designer and an Antiquary’s Remodeled Guesthouses in Reims (Soon Available to Rent)

I have never been to Reims, the city in the Champagne region of France where all of the French kings were once crowned. But, through the magic of Instagram, I’ve spent the last few weeks poring over one of the most classically, quietly lovely projects I’ve seen: a pair of guesthouses and the accompanying family house of the family renovating them, steps from the city’s famous cathedral. It was Instagram that first led me to discover Les Penates Reims: While researching Nomibis—a flea market base...

Since then he’s dropped his self-titled debut which has spawned three more singles, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Like I Loved You” and his latest, “Mercy,” all of which he played during his set Sunday nig...

Audit: Village lacks proper records of traffic camera fines

BRICE, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s auditor has faulted a small village and its police chief for failing to keep proper records of camera-enforced traffic fines that produce much of the village’s revenue. An audit of Brice released last week says auditors couldn’t find sufficient documentation for the tickets. The village roughly 12 miles (19 kilometers) […]

Clippers pick up option on Sam Dekker, but not on Brice Johnson

LOS ANGELES — In the end, it came down to a body of work. Small forward Sam Dekker had one and power forward Brice Johnson didn’t. The Clippers picked up the fourth-year option on Dekker’s contract before Tuesday’s deadline, but they didn’t pick up the third-year option on Johnson’s deal. Dekker is due to make about $2.7 million in 2018-19, a $1 million raise over this season. Johnson would have made about $1.5 million next season, a bump of about $200,000 from this one. Johnson remains with the...

Keep Watching: How ‘Creep’ and ‘Creep 2’ Revitalize Found Footage Horror

The found footage horror film is, for the most part, dead. The cause of death was overexposure – after producers realized how quick and easy (and cheap!) it would be to create such films, the multiplexes became choked with them. You couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting a found footage/faux documentary chiller (note: please don’t swing cats, alive or dead; it’s mean). Yet every now and then, someone will resurrect the idea, for better or worse. Usually worse. Then there’s the Creep se...

The ‘Creep 2’ Trailer Is Ready To Make You Uncomfortable

Patrick Brice’s funny, unnerving Creep, starring Mark Duplass in a tour de force of weirdness, found clever ways to breathe new life into the “found footage” genre. Now Brice is trying to recreate the very uncomfortable magic again with Creep 2, a sequel that will attempt to go to even greater lengths to make its audience feel uneasy. The Creep 2 trailer below gives us our first look at the film. In Creep, director Patrick Brice (The Overnight) played a filmmaker looking for work. Thinking h...

Ohio's New Bill to Target 'Speed Traps' Could Hurt the State's Tiny Communities

Advocates for Ohio’s smallest communities say state lawmakers should slow down before passing a bill that limits how much they can collect in traffic fines. H.B. 125 , which passed the House unanimously, would cap fines collected by villages of fewer than 200 people. They can be no more than municipal courts would charge for similar violations. Kent Scarrett of the Ohio Municipal League says many villages like Linndale in Northeast Ohio and Brice in Central Ohio have few financial options becaus...

Marquette Mutineers vs West Bend Bombers: What A Difference A Day Makes

It’s a two-hour drive from Calumet, MI to Marquette, and the two places feel as different as New York and Denver.  It’s not just the size of the cities  the rinks, but the tone of the hockey as well. But maybe that’s expected, when you are in Hockeyville, USA. Or, I guess I should say #HockeyvilleUSA, because you can’t have anything these days, without it being a hashtag.  Also, please, get off my lawn.
