As of Monday, March 23, 2020, there were at least 81 documented cases of the coronavirus in San Fernando Valley communities, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. LA police commission to discuss Van Nuys officer-involved shooting that killed hostage

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners will consider Tuesday whether an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a hostage was in accordance with the city’s polices. Man whose wife accidentally hit by gunfire in hostage incident sues city of Los Angeles

The husband of a woman who was accidentally killed by LAPD gunfire while being held hostage by a knife-wielding suspect in Van Nuys in 2018 is suing the city and three officers. DeWayne Holt, who was married to 49-year-old Elizabeth Tollison, filed the wrongful-death lawsuit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming as defendants the city and the officers.
