7 Travel Mistakes I Made in Guatemala

This post 7 Travel Mistakes I Made in Guatemala appeared first on The Professional Hobo. I recently spent six weeks in Guatemala. It was supposed to be three months, but I cut the trip short. I’ll admit up front that the reasons I left Guatemala early have little to do with the country itself; rather, I did a poor job of planning this trip and I made some travel mistakes that somebody of my tenure in this biz should have been able to avoid. But, that’s how the cookie crumbled, and now that I’ve ...

The Creative Guide to Free or Cheap Accommodation

This post The Creative Guide to Free or Cheap Accommodation appeared first on The Professional Hobo. I’ve been writing a lot of really big Travel Lifestyle Guides lately, but I think I outdid myself with this one. It’s BIG. Why? Because accommodation is one of the most important aspects of your travels; it dictates both your cost of travel, and your overall experience. So, it’s worth discussing….in detail. In this guide, I will outline how to get free accommodation (something that has saved me o...

Travelling abroad is without a doubt an adventure, but driving abroad is a whole other story. When you decide to get behind the wheel in a foreign country, you not only get to experience more foreign sites, you also get to experience foreign traffic laws (or lack there of). When preparing to travel most people think about getting their vaccines and packing their favourite swimming attire, but few consider the possibility that they might be involved in a vehicle accident. 2018: Where I’m Going, Where I Want to Go and What I Hope to Accomplish

Yes, it’s that time of year again for this particular blog post but wait, don’t start groaning. While some people may find the predictable end of the year/start of a new year posts a little formulaic, I always look forward to writing them and I hope they’re anything but predictable. For me, they’re a great way to organize my thoughts and to set priorities for the next 12 months. It’s far too easy to fall into familiar and comfortable routines, at least it is for me, but by starting out the year...

The biggest game of 2017 is getting its first major update

In 2017's biggest game, you parachute to an abandoned island with 100 real players. You're unarmed, and so is everyone else, but the island is rife with weaponry to be scavenged and used. The goal once you land: Survive.  That's the basic premise of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," the biggest game of 2017: Be the last person standing of 100 in a massive fight to the death. With such a thrilling, Hunger Games-esque premise, it's no surprise that the game has been such a breakaway hit — it's the...
