Tesla confirms its annual meeting and highly anticipated 'battery day' will be held in-person on September 22 at its Fremont factory (TSLA)

Tesla on Friday confirmed its delayed annual investor meeting will happen with an in-person event on September 22, but it doesn't anticipate any "formal stockholder business" to occur.   The company's much awaited "battery day," where it intends to show off its latest in electric powertrain prowess, will also happen the same day, it said in a regulatory filing. Both events have previously been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic that's also forced shutdowns of Tesla's factories in Cali...

Don’t get your hopes up, Tesla probably isn’t working on LiDAR for Autopilot

Tesla, or rather the company’s CEO Elon Musk, isn’t really a fan of LiDAR sensors when it comes to autonomous vehicles. So why has a Model S test mule recently been spotted with a LiDAR-based sensor arrangement? Yesterday, Electrek reader Matt Crowley shared some snaps with the EV magazine of a Tesla Model S, that had a roof-mounted rig with a bunch of non-standard Tesla sensors on it — including what looks like LiDAR. But it’s unlikely that the company will introduce the tech to its vehicles — ...

Consumer Reports slammed Tesla's controversial Smart Summon feature, saying it sometimes acted like a drunk driver (TSLA)

Consumer Reports said Tesla's Smart Summon feature worked inconsistently and questioned the benefits owners receive from it in a review published on Tuesday.
