Cole Beasley: Cowboys' front office 'pushes who they want to get the ball to'

Most Dallas Cowboys fans were glad to see that the team parted ways offensive coordinator Scott Linehan last week, and presumably some players were too. But at least one Cowboys receiver says touches weren't dictated by the game plan or the defense, but rather the front office. The front office pushes who they want' Cole Beasley, who just finished his seventh season with Dallas, was interacting with fans on Twitter on Tuesday, and began with one asking how his ankle was feeling.

The end could be coming for Rodger Saffold and the Rams, and he would like it to be happy

THOUSAND OAKS – After a half-decade of turbulence, Rodger Saffold isn’t ready to get off the flight, just when things have become nice and smooth for the Rams’ longest-tenured player. Will it happen? Saffold’s time with the Rams now is a game-to-game situation, and it starts with Saturday’s playoff game against Dallas. The starting guard is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, after nine seasons – most of which ended in frustration — and more position changes that can be counted on...

Rams meet Dallas Cowboys in NFL playoffs for first time in 33 years

Tom Landry coached his final playoff game for the Dallas Cowboys on Jan. 4, 1986. Sean McVay was born 20 days later. There’s plenty of history, both direct and incidental, between the Rams and the Cowboys. They’ll meet in the playoffs for the first time in 33 years on Saturday at the Coliseum, in a game that will send the winner to the NFC championship game. For both teams, it’s been a long, slow climb back to championship contention after some glory days in the 1990s and early 2000s. Sign up f...

Cowboys “hopeful” Cole Beasley won’t be out long

Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley may have been down short of the sticks on a catch late in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s win over the Saints, but the officials marked it as a first down and the Saints were out of timeouts so they couldn’t challenge the spot of the ball. The first down still came at a cost for Beasley and the Cowboys. Beasley injured his foot and had to hobble to the sideline after the play.

Cole Beasley drops TD, forcing Cowboys to settle for FG

The Cowboys put together their longest drive of the season, using 14 to go 85 yards and eating up 7:23 off the clock. The last 4 yards were elusive, though, and Dallas was forced to settle for a chip-shot field goal on the 15th play. Ezekiel Elliott, who had 151 rushing yards and 36 receiving yards last week, had five carries for 28 yards and one catch for 34 yards on the team’s first drive against the Falcons.

His big game - and very small dog

GEOGRAPHY AND talent brought E.J. Biggers to the Eagles' remarkably remade defensive backfield. Biggers plays against four-receiver sets and is a special-teams standout. His switch to covering slot receiver Cole Beasley last week saved the game at Dallas, part of an astounding turnaround of what was the worst unit on the team in 2014.

Five Things: Bears Vs. Cowboys Thursday Night Roundup

By Andrew Kahn The Dallas Cowboys beat the Chicago Bears last night 41-28. Chicago scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to make it look respectable, but a 21-0 third quarter for Dallas essentially sealed this one. The Cowboys improved to 9-4, a critical win for their playoff hopes, while the Bears fell to 5-8. Road warriors Jerry Jones spent $1.3 billion on the Cowboys home stadium, but his team has struggled there, winning six games the year it opened (2009) but just two, five, four, a...
