Cowboys right guard Zack Martin missed the first game of his NFL career last Sunday because of a knee injury, but he took a step back toward the lineup on Thursday. Martin returned to practice for the first time since he was injured in Week 14. Connor Williams stepped in for Martin, which meant the Cowboys had to turn to Adam Redmond when left guard Xavier Su'a-Filo injured his eye in the loss to the Colts.

I Went To The NFL Draft — Here’s What I Learned

Football is something that has been a part of me since birth. Both of my parents were University of Georgia alums, and I’ll never forget the awe I felt when we took family trips back to the campus to cheer on their alma mater. It was a sea of black and red in the stadium, and I couldn’t wait to be a part of it.When I ended up attending the school myself, it only affirmed that childhood passion — I loved the sport, the coaches, and screaming my head off in a stadium decked out in my teams' color...

Mock Draft Monday: What To Do With Two Ones and Two Two’s?

NEPD Staff Writer: Mike Gerken NEPD Staff Contributor: Jeff Fidler The Patriots have been busy since our last Mock Draft Monday and for fans of the draft, it is very exciting. The team did lose its deep threat in Brandin Cooks, but were able to get really good value for him and now have two picks in the first round and two picks in the second, which should make the Patriots a very active team on draft day. There are no rules today, we left it open to interpretation since we had to start thinki...

Mock Draft Monday: Mike’s One Rounder

NEPD Staff Writer: Mike Gerken This mock is what I think the teams will do, not necessarily what I think they should do. 1. Cleveland Browns: Sam Darnold, QB: I get it, the Browns have either taken the wrong QB or passed on the right QB for a couple of decades now and that is why they have been terrible for that same amount of time. At least this time around, it seems they are doing it the right way by getting a bridge QB for this year so a guy like Darnold, who is not ready to start, has a c...

USC running back Ronald Jones won’t skip Cotton Bowl

Last season, LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey made waves after the junior running backs skipped their respective bowl games in order to begin preparations for the NFL Draft. Ronald Jones, USC’s draft-eligible running back, will not join the recent trend. The junior said after the Pac-12 Conference championship game earlier this month that he would play in the team’s bowl game. “Most definitely,” Jones said. “I can’t go out like that.” It was two days before the Trojans ...
