Steve Jobs would have been 65 on Monday. Here's how the late Apple CEO saved the company from disaster and set it on the path to a $1 trillion valuation. (AAPL)

When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1996, the company was in dire straits.  He quickly staged a boardroom coup, becoming CEO once again and working to turn the company around via new products and an investment from Apple's main rival, Microsoft.  During Jobs' tenure, Apple launched the iMac, iBook, iPod, Mac OS X, iPhone, iPad, and more. These days, the company is worth over $1 trillion. Jobs, who died in 2011 from pancreatic cancer, would have turned 65 on Monday.  Visit Business Insider's h...

Sharks Need to Make Serious Changes Now

This season has not exactly gone as planned for the San Jose Sharks. Currently sitting 27th in the league and 13 points behind the wild card spot, it is safe to say that nobody would have predicted the season going this way back in October. Currently dealing with season-long injuries to key players and the recent firing of head coach Peter DeBoer, it begs the question, what is next for the Sharks? Is Bob Boughner a Viable Option? Bob Boughner, former head coach of the Florida Panthers, b...

Oracle has the support of the Trump administration and some big media industry groups in its Supreme Court fight against Google. Here's why they're siding with Oracle. (ORCL, GOOG)

Oracle and Google are scheduled to face off before the US Supreme Court on March 24.  The 10-year-old dispute is based on Oracle's claim that Google stole a key component of its Java technology to build the Android operating system. Google rejects the charge, saying Oracle cannot copyright the code — known as APIs, or application programming interfaces — which allows programs to talk to each other. The Trump administration, through Solicitor General Noel Francisco, argues that Google is using...

20 Years After Dot-Com Peak, Tech Dominance Keeps Investors on Edge

As Wall Street approaches the 20th anniversary of the piercing of the dot-com bubble, today's decade-old rally led by a few small players shows some similarities that cautious investors are keeping an eye on. From a report: March 11, 2000 marked the beginning of a crash of overly-inflated stocks that would last over two years, lead to the failure of investor favorites including Worldcom and Pets.com and take over 13 years for Wall Street to recover from. That bust ended a 1,000% decade-long Nasd...

Married co-founders are a startup’s secret weapon

“If I was running Clearbanc by myself, it probably would have gone off the cliff eight times at this point,” says Clearbanc co-founder Andrew D’Souza.  “If I were running the company by myself, it would be half its size,” adds Michele Romanow, Clearbanc’s other co-founder. In addition to starting the $420 million-backed fintech company together, D’Souza and Romanow are in a relationship. The two initially met at an event in San Francisco, and followed up with a friendly informational int...
