‘The Devil In the White City’ Movie is Now a Hulu Series From Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio were hoping to one day adapt Erik Larson’s fantastic book The Devil in the White City into a feature film, with Scorsese directing, and DiCaprio starring as the notorious H.H. Holmes, thought to be America’s first serial killer. But now, things have changed. Instead of a movie, we’re getting a Devil in the White City Hulu show, and while Scorsese and DiCaprio will still be producing, it’s doubtful their involvement will go much further than that. And that’s...

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ Images Show Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino in 1969 Attire

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is director Quentin Tarantino‘s ode to 1969, a year of great political upheaval in the U.S. – and the year of the Manson Murders. The Hateful Eight director has earned some flack for making a film involving the shocking murders of Sharon Tate at the hands of Charles Manson’s followers, but in  Tarantino’s own words , the film is “not Charles Manson, it’s 1969.” And the first set of official Once Upon a Time in Hollywood images prove the movie is as steeped in the c...

Noah’s Ark found, a Palace coup, and a Hollywood poker scam, in this week’s dubious tabloids

The British press treat their Royal Family like a soap opera, complete with catfighting sisters-in-law, feuding brothers separating their lives, and an impatient heir to the throne, so it’s hard to fault the American tabloids for running with the soap opera theme – and doing it better. “William Seizes Throne – from murderer Charles!” screams the Globe cover. No, the Queen hasn’t died, and Prince William hasn’t launched a Palace coup to kill his father (Charles is branded a “murderer” by the tabl...

"There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor."

"Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"Tweeted Trump, as the big fires burned. Insensitive? Why did he choose to provoke during the fire? Of course, the criticism was entirely predictable and harsh. Here's "President Trump's tweet on California wildfires angers firefighters, celebrities" (CNN). Excerpt:The president of the California Professional Firefighters said the message is an...

Replaced kitchen taps/faucets

Yesterday I dug in to swapping out my taps/faucets – the biggest part was probably just moving the washing machine. It is of course heavy, and very tightly squeezed in to its slot. I’ve done it plenty of times though, so it’s smooth enough. The old tap, with the stopcock turned off and just dribbling the last water out. Removed – easy enough, only one bolt held it in place. The new tap – its so much better, with much improved water pressure and no roar. In other news, I killed a bear last night ...

‘It’ Director Andy Muschietti Adapting H.G. Wells Classic ‘The Time Machine’, Leonardo DiCaprio Producing

Andy Muschietti directed last year’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It, but Muschietti is no clown. He’s been able to parlay that movie’s record-breaking success into multiple new directing gigs, and now he’s lined up a brand new one: he’ll direct a new adaptation of H.G. Wells‘ classic time travel novella The Time Machine, and Leonardo DiCaprio is on board as a producer. This project is so hot that competing studios have decided to temporarily put aside their differences and work together to bri...

Maya Bay closes following extensive environmental damage from tourists

The Thai beach that Leonardo DiCaprio made famous in his 2000 movie The Beach is closing indefinitely thanks to the damage caused by millions of tourists. Maya Bay, one of the most popular destinations in the world, is a small beach with silky sands and crystal blue water surrounded by cliffs on Ko Phi Phi Leh island. But over the years, it has sustained such massive environmental damage from pollution that authorities have closed it for at least a year. The movie may not have been a hit for Di...

The 10 Best Leonardo DiCaprio Movies

The 10 best Leonardo DiCaprio movies Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the biggest movie stars of the last three decades. Getting his start early in Hollywood, the man simply known as Leo, showed he was headed for big things in his role as Arnie Grape in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. From his breakout success, DiCaprio has gone from teen heartthrob to serious actor to Oscar winner. His lack of an Oscar seemed criminal until his big break for the 2015 film The Revenant. His career has always led him...

Glen Powell is Writing a “Dark and Irreverent” ‘Captain Planet’ Movie

I had completely forgotten that Glen Powell was writing a Captain Planet movie. We first wrote about that news about two years ago, after Powell’s breakout role in Richard Linklater’s college baseball comedy Everybody Wants Some!! but long before he earned Internet’s Boyfriend status with his role in Netflix’s romantic comedy Set It Up and snagged a role alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. But in a new interview, Powell has given some insight into his take on a film adaptation of the 199...

This Inception-inspired Top Can Spin For An Entire Day!

One of cinema’s greatest moments was the last second of Christopher Nolan’s Inception. I remember the camera slow-zooming into DiCaprio’s totem, the spinning top. The idea was that in his dreams, the top kept spinning, and in reality, the top eventually returned to its static position. As the camera zoomed in, the top slightly faltered and everyone around me gasped as the scene cut to a close, leaving us to wonder if DiCaprio, who was united with his children, was dreaming about it or not.Nola...

Everything We Know – And What We Can Piece Together – About Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’

Last week, we got our first look at Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The project has been steeped in controversy since its announcement, as it will pair the notoriously provocative director with a subject matter undeserving of glorification or gratuity: the Manson Murders. At least, that was the initial concern. As we’ve learned in the meantime, and in Tarantino’s own words , the film is “not Charles Manson, it’s 1969.” Indee...
