An LA-based startup is using fever-tracking tech to keep daycares open for essential workers, posing as a model for other businesses

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and exacerbated the huge lack of childcare support in the US. Los Angeles-based daycare startup WeeCare has managed to keep most of its daycares open for essential workers thanks to its temperature checks. Parents can take a video of themselves taking their and their child's temperatures and submit it through a portal on the WeeCare app, and daycare providers can do the same. The company has shared data with the city of LA to track coronavirus cases and has be...

STUDIO 54 – THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES

STUDIO 54 – THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES Studio 54 was a rare moment in time. Words don’t do it justice. In the photo: Bethann, Halston, Bianca, Liza, Andy, Putassa. CHAPTER 5 STUDIO 54 – THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES It was “the only” time, and for sure, the best years of my life. Though it’s still not clear when or how, but at some point, I began running with the Beautiful People (BPs). I knew this to be true because only the most beautiful and interesting people sashayed passed the velvet ropes of Stud...

Humble Beginnings

Humble Beginnings We were so humble, we couldn’t afford the pie. HUMBLE BEGINNINGS WOULD BE A STEP UP Chapter 2 Let’s circle back to where it all began. Like David Copperfield, I am born. But sadly for me, in New Jersey. There are actually a few (very few) towns that are fabulous like Bernardsville, New Jersey where Jackie O. had a home and kept her horses. There’s Englewood, where legendary silent screen star Greta Garbo had a palatial estate since many of the silent films were filmed in and...

Famous TV house locations

The running joke with Friends is that no 20-somethings in New York could ever afford that apartment. Of course, we’ve got no way to prove that, since the “apartment” was actually a sound stage, and there’s not exactly a Zillow listing for fictional addresses. But many shows shot their exterior shots at real live homes that you can go drive by and annoy the current occupants today. Many of which are valued at a lot more than their fictional occupants could ever afford. HomeAdvisor did some dig...
