Whirlpool: Brastemp Shareding

Women often carry the burden when it comes to household chores, and have historically endured the double burden of a career and the social pressures of caring for their homes and families. According to an IBGE survey in 2020, women spend twice as much time as men on household chores. Brastemp has launched an initiative this month with "Household chores are everyone's chores" – a new campaign created by FCB in partnership with consulting company Think Eva, aimed at promoting th...

New Trail Shoes for Spring-Summer 2021

The post New Trail Shoes for Spring-Summer 2021 appeared first on iRunFar. The to BOA for their support in making this article possible! In all honesty, having written iRunFar’s new trail shoe roundups for a decade, this is the most exciting round of new trail shoes in many years. In some ways, it’s got the heel of the early 2010s, with numerous shoes that look a little like models that have come before. On the other hand, there are also a bunch of new models and updates to existing models tha...

Ray Troll x Eva's Wild "Save What You Love"

I love Ray Troll's art.You occasionally see it on fly fishing websites and may not even realize it.  I first put two and two together when I visited Ketchikan, Alaska a few years ago as a stop on a summer vacation. There's an eclectic little street (Creek Street) with several touristy traps, one of which is an art gallery/gift shop featuring the works of Ray Troll. I spent more than my fair share of time in "Soho Coho" looking at vibrant images of salmon, bears, and other forms of life... from ...

Brooks Catamount Review

The post Brooks Catamount Review appeared first on iRunFar. The Brooks Catamount ($160) was a new entrant at the running-shoe market in the second half of 2020. Brooks has positioned the Catamount as a shoe meant to go the 100-mile distance, both in all its components as well as in accents all over its upper. Standout features on the Catamount include the DNA FLASH midsole offering excellent cushioning, a flexible yet protective rock plate, and do-everything-decently outsole. At only 9.3 ounces ...

Le Vetiver de Lubin Vetiris Lubin: Comparative Review

Brought to the Lubin website by Anna and Eva, two new fragrances from the Portraits de Femmes collection (in case you missed it, my review's here), I was unpleasantly surprised by the absence of Le Vetiver de Lubin, one of the first fragrances that kicked off the House's renaissance. Lubin Paris President Gilles Thévenin has confirmed that the 2007 fragrance has already been discontinued due to... Death Isn’t the End

By Leo Babauta Recently a couple of our loved ones died, and my family have been hit by grief and loss. I’ve been letting myself feel it as much as I can, and letting it bring our family closer together. It’s not the only time death has hit our loved ones in recent years — aside from my father and Eva’s dad dying, we’ve had other close relatives and friends die as well. It can hit you pretty hard. I’ve been coming to see death differently as I’ve been studying as a Zen student, and whi...

You Carry Me Mug

Even monsters know: There’s nothing quite like being held close by your mom or dad. Ena Langendijk’s handmade mug honors the special bond between child and parent with a couple of cuddly creatures. Eva cherished carrying her own daughter and knew parents would love to receive a sweet reminder of that warm, fuzzy feeling from their little monster (that’s you!). Handmade in Wisconsin.

This giant 1950s town replica in California is a new kind of treatment center for people with Alzheimer's

Glenner Town Square looks like a 1950s town, but it's actually a treatment center in Chula Vista, California for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. The center uses reminiscence therapy to help spark memories and provide a comforting environment for aging patients.  Participants rotate through a series of immersive activities, like playing bingo in a retro dinner or making jewelry in a clothing store, that keep their minds and bodies active. Comment on hot fudge sauce by Eva

Just want to throw my vote in for this classic. I’ve tried the newer version, but this one wins by a long shot. The other one is too sweet, but this one is perfect, super chocolatey, and I keep coming back to it again!

Whicker: Dr. Damien Richardson can speak to Tom Brady being a medical marvel

Seventeen years ago, Damien Richardson stood on a sideline in Houston, usually near John Fox, the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. “I got a lot of air time,” Richardson said. Richardson got no game time because he was on crutches. His knee was hurt, and his neck was already questionable from his days as a special-teams super-collider. But he got to see everything but Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction at halftime. He watched the Panthers and Patriots retreat and advance, and he saw Tom Bra...

Comment on tomato-glazed meatloaves with brown butter mashed potatoes by Eva

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to cool the vegetables before mixing it into the meat? It would prevent the fat from melting.

Comment on confetti party cake by Eva

I was very hesitant to make this because about half the comments were from people who had problems with the recipe. Well, I made the cake and I’m adding my comment to the group of people who had success with this cake and it tastes great! I made 1 batch of cake mix and 1 batch of icing, and it was the perfect amount for a 2 layer 6 inch cake. Each layer is about 1.25 inches tall, total height iced is 2.75-3 inches tall, which seems proportionate for the 6 inch diameter (like it doesn’t feel like...

Say Goodbye to 2020 With ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’, the Bleak but Ultimately Hopeful Anime Masterpiece

(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.) Comment on vanilla custard slices by Sandy

In reply to Eva. I agree with you about the custard. It’s really magnificent, and I’ll use it going forward in other custard-requiring desserts. My pastry was such a fail. I couldn’t find all-butter puff and the alternative was bland and gross and impossible to cut. I ended up scraping out the custard and eating that on its own
