Unenforceability, Preclusion, and Interlocutory Appeals

by Dennis Crouch I wrote an essay last month discussing the rarity of certified questions on appeal under 28 U.S.C. § 1292(b). See, Dennis Crouch, Certified Questions on Appeal under § 1292(b), Patently-O (January 31, 2020). In Feit Electric Co. v. CFL Tech. (Fed. Cir. February 3, 2020)[20-110 CAFC denial], the Federal Circuit has denied Feit’s petition for discretionary review of a certified question. The case involves CFL Tech’s U.S. Patent No. 6,172,464 that was previously held unenforceable...

Premium Handmade Features Define Feit’s Metal Unlined Hiker

Limited to an edition of 40, the all-purpose boot excels beyond average footwear Consider how most shoes are made: they’re conceptualized by a team of designers, pushed through a handful of approval processes, and then assembled offsite—by machines or an entire factory of workers. CH favorite Feit, on the other hand, works through every single boot, brogue, and sneaker one at a time, entrusting one …

Biotrainer Hightops

The Feit Biotrainer High is a basketball-style silhouette built out using the highest grade materials—a luxurious leather contoured heel, suede upper, and 100% biodegradable sole (made from the milk of the rubber tree plant). Making this sole is a meticulous, two-week process that renders the final product plastic-less. The shoe is certainly high-end, but it operates more like an athletic shoe than a dress one.

What makes a faster typist?

The data was collected by researchers from Aalto University in Finland and the University of Cambridge. Volunteers from over 200 countries took the typing test, which is freely available online. Participants were asked to transcribe randomised sentences, and their accuracy and speed were assessed by the researchers. Unsurprisingly, the researchers found that faster typists make fewer mistakes. However, they also found that the fastest typists also performed between 40 and 70 percent of ke...
