Getting Back

S o here I am we are, today... So many thoughts went through my mind as I stitched. Yet, I was not prepared to catch them. I long to really get through it, making a cloth with a true sense of how it happened, openly shared. Even if for my own curiosity, because it's as much of a mystery to me. It is quite a challenge to remember to let it flow. How interruptions are just as much a part of it. The forming. I am calling this The Uphill Climb. There is no figure yet. I am not sure it i...

To Fall into it

I t's Fall. And then thinking about Fall. Leaves Fall. But leaves are let go to make room for new leaves. Our sweet Michelle gave me this little hoop. I played with this photo. I highlighted what might be held by this small gift. And I added a garden layer, the season. Fading. I say to myself, the layering in photos, as well as digital drawing, can be a tool, for helping form evolve in my story cloth.  But then too, tools need to be an extension of those who use them. That is the comple...

Composition

C ompose. To begin with something. To make peace with it. That is how I use the word. There is a the physical thing. The need for it to feel right, and to hold together, at least long enough to reconsider.  Letting it, helping it  BE. There is also the thought behind it. I always hope that might become a tool and not a weapon.  I make changes , often based on softening my original vision. Even though I was often taught the opposite. In this case my thought has softened as well, and this ...

Pause for a Moment

I worked on this one yesterday. In the lamplight this morning, the colors are altered. The photo not so clear. I added the red dot. Some stitch.      Link to audio if you see no player above

x

I don't know why this one is so difficult to photograph, just elusive in some sort of way. Perhaps I see something that cannot be seen outside a dream. The thing that remains in between. The X emerged, I don't think I have talked about that symbol much. I have been gathering thoughts for a while. It is a combination of conflicting thoughts having to do with the unknown, crossing over, and placekeeping.  Not to be confused with the cross (which is here too.).  But my words seem ina...

Mind's Eye

This flower, it almost looks like cloth.  I can enjoy that. That thought works for me. But not the cat face, now mentioned, in the Heart of Season piece, I did not see it or intend it, now I cannot un-see it.  I am working on it, but ... ...the power of suggestion is a mighty tricky thing, as we all know.  I need, at this point, not to be misunderstood.  Just thinking how much that might be my own fault.  Anyway, I have some ideas but if I cannot shake it, in my head, (the mind has some rather ...

OK

S o. Here I am. There are many reasons for this change. But not as many as there were for leaving. The biggest one was my inability to easily put media here, which has not changed. And then what if confusion is a form of clarity? I am here because I am confused. Became confused. I guess that is clear enough for now. Things: I left here awhile ago for technical reasons. I went here . Some of you may not have found me there.  The service that delivers these posts by email no longer accept...

Startup Claims Breakthrough in Long-Duration Batteries (slashdot)

A four-year-old startup says it has built an inexpensive battery that can discharge power for days using one of the most common elements on Earth: iron. From a report: Form Energy's batteries are far too heavy for electric cars. But it says they will be capable of solving one of the most elusive problems facing renewable energy: cheaply storing large amounts of electricity to power grids when the sun isn't shining and wind isn't blowing. Deepening Winter.

It's cold, we've gone Polar. Looks like below freezing for a week or so. And maybe some snow. The big unstacked wood pile is frozen. An excuse to continue with other things.  Life became really confusing this last year. Maybe actually just confusing.  In any case, The Deep Pool of Thought... posts here and here ... has become a larger cloth still, simply by giving it a different use. And it could be a blanket too if I keep going.  And I probably will, what else is there? And it's...

T he story. The thing is, we are in it, wherever we are. Whatever form we take.  Suddenly I have so much to say. But I will wait.  I stitch. The feel of it is what I need. The feel of going. Connection

The internet came back yesterday. The whole thing seems very fishy here. This internet service. I don't buy any of their explanations. Maybe they think I'm stupid.  Our guess is that they are over capacity and they are engineering some kind of rolling blackouts. Here in Nowhere'sville, we are not a priority. Whatever. Two blankets . As one. Connected by no real thread. Just being. So you spend all this time, making a blanket, arranging things to look just so. But really, this ...
