‘Launchpad’ Featurette: The Disney+ Collection of Short Films Wants You to “Embrace Yourself”

Launchpad, a new Disney+ series of live-action short films that have nothing to do with the character from DuckTales, has released a new featurette ahead of its premiere. The goal of the series is “to diversify the types of stories that are being told and to give access to those who have historically not had it” based around the theme “Discover.” It’s a neat idea, and if Disney+ sticks with this – as they plan to – it could really open doors for budding filmmakers. Watch the featurette, which i...

Four signings that could get Arsenal challenging for a Champions League place again

Arsenal’s rebuild Despite an FA Cup and Community Shield win during his first season at the club, Arsenal’s decline has continued under Mikel Arteta’s management. The Gunners began the weekend sat down in 10th in the Premier League table, and out of every single cup competition. This means the north Londoners are on course to miss out on European football for the first time since 1996.They are also likely to finish with another fairly dismal points total. 56 points in 2019/20 was their lowest fini...

Life is Good

Cassis     Chelsea is four months along, at first she didn't feel so good but the second trimester is proving easier. Gabriel kisses her tummy with tenderness, and baby kisses bring such sweetness. We are over the moon and back with excitement good news is welcomed anytime, and especially this year. I only wish my mother could see Gabriel more often and be here to witness the birth. Unfortunately, that is one of the disadvantages of my living in another country. Separation of celebrations. What...

News Post: Kitting The Boga

Tycho: Kitboga is a kind of Reverse Scammer, whatever the latin is for Who Scams The Scammers, that Gabriel the Younger turned Gabriel the Elder onto. The novel bit - aside from the "characters" he takes on - is that he essentially has would-be thieves, brigands, and elder abusers connect to a virtual machine that has more or less been configured as a haunted labyrinth. Then it is up to scammers to engage in a truncated version of the Hero's Journey as they try and contend with its lessons,...

Things with Wheels

Reading to a baby one page half-read turning  two pages back, then upside down  followed with words in a row interrupted by sounds and  lots of facial expressions. And when the pictures become real on the life stage... We spend much time admiring trucks, garbage trucks, and backhoes in the public gardens but the biggest burst of joy was when I took Gabriel to the train station and we watched trains coming and going.                     [Author: French la Vie]

Quiet Paris

Paris and several other regions went into a stricter lockdown than what all of France has been experiencing since October. Parts of Palais Royal where Gabriel and I go to hang out were completely closed off. Nevertheless, we had a good time.  Now that the weather is nice the parks are packed. Everyone wears a mask.       All restaurants, bars, and cafes have been closed since October and will be into April and maybe longer. I just heard bars will open in July. I might start drinking by then. ...

Nursery School

Gabriel's daycare was short-lived. He started last week. Since September I had been going to and from Paris every week to watch him. I was sad to give up my role but happy too to have my days back at home. And happy that he could play with other children, which he hasn't been able to most of his little life.   Tonight France goes into deeper lockdown. All schools will close down for one month. Daycare included (there are far more restrictions put into place but mainly we have been semi-lockdo...

The Lollipop Lesson

The Little Squirt pointed to the canister on his parent's dresser that held phone-chargers, plugs, a hair clip or two, some receipts, and a few lollipops. "Gabriel, I don't think the lollipop is the answer." You see the handlebar to his pushbike was up too high and I could not lower it no matter how hard I tried. When I told him I couldn't budge it he pointed to the canister on his parent's dresser then in his nonverbal but highly effective way I knew he was telling me the lollipop was the ans...

My Cousin Julie

Yesterday, I received again devastating news about my cousin Julie, Sacha's Buddhamere. If I wasn't so sad I would have had time to feel downright mad at the God I call Love. I know Love has no bounds and that God can take my anger with a grain of salt. Some hit pillows I have a good go at God, it helps to be able to dump it somewhere and not be judged but restored. My cousin suffered several subarachnoid hemorrhages. The outlook wasn't promising she was incubated. The thought was to prepare ...

Walking with an Iris

Since the lockdown Gabriel and family have spent most their time with us. I am happiest when I am with this Baby Love. Today we walked along the path picking flowers and smelling rosemary, thyme and marjolaine. Baby Love picked an iris for his maman slowly as we reached home all the petals were gone except one.                 [Author: French la Vie]

There are two late-20th century rock bands named Genesis and both of them featured Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks. The second Genesis we know of as one of the biggest-selling bands of all time and authors of such massive hits as “Land of Confusion,” “In Too Deep,” and “Throwing It All Away.” The first we may not know at all, except indirectly by way of its frontman, Peter Gabriel, better known as… solo artist Peter Gabriel. One reason Genesis, the second, is more famous th...

You Don’t Need to Cross an Ocean to Find God’s Love

We slipped past ancient olive trees, their grey-green leaves beckoning us closer. The stillness enveloped us as we walked into the garden of tall, slim evergreens and bare-leaved trees in the coolness of February. Instinctively, we whispered in the sacred space as we took our seats on the low stone wall at the edge of the path. We were on the Mount of Olives. Last February, my husband and I took a long-anticipated trip to Israel. Our tour group was one of the last to have this experience before ...

Ethel Gabriel, Who Ran Parts Of RCA Victor For 40 Years, Has Died At 99

Gabriel began working at RCA when she was a student at Temple University, testing records for manufacturing imperfections. And she didn’t leave. “Gabriel often said that she had produced some 2,500 records. [Documentary researcher April] Tucker said officials at Sony, which now holds RCA’s archives, had told her that the number may actually be higher, since contributions were not always credited.” – The New York Times

It's the same with Pokemon, actually. He's not in for every game but when ...
