Watch the hole-in-one that gave Jason Kokrak a share of the Valspar Championship lead

If Jason Kokrak secures his first PGA Tour victory this weekend at the Valspar Championship, he'll look back on his hole-in-one on Saturday as one of the biggest highlights of his career. There's a lot of golf to be played, but an ace at the 15th hole on the Copperhead course at Innisbrook gave Kokrak a share of the lead late in his third round. Kokrak was 3-under on his third round through 14 holes as he stepped up to the 219-yard 15th hole, sitting two behind the lead, about to enter...

17-year-old Akshay Bhatia dazzles in PGA Tour debut, but misses cut at Valspar Championship

Akshay Bhatia won't be playing at the Valspar Championship this weekend. Making his PGA Tour debut at Innisbrook, the 17-year-old prodigy turned heads early in the week by stating his goal was not to make the cut but win the tournament, sprinkling in some trash talk to Jon Rahm for good measure. "The first day I was definitely nervous, the first seven or eight holes I was not comfortable at all," Bhatia said on Friday.

A Quick Fix Provided by Golf Clinics

Golf clinics are not only fun but they are also educational and may offer a quick fix (and an a-ha moment) when you need it most! After attending a local golf clinic last week at Grande Dunes Golf Performance Center, I realized that the problems faced by many golfers also resonate with me - I slice at times, am off balance, sway a little - basic issues amateurs face if not corrected regularly by a qualified teaching professional. Why should you attend a golf clinic? A group lesson is a great wa...

Watch Russell Knox make an albatross at the Valspar Championship

Knox was one over during his trek around the Copperhead Course on Thursday morning until he reached the par-5 11th. Despite a 300-yard drive that found the fairway, the 33-year-old was still 275 yards out. Even by the long ball standards of tour players, not exactly a distance that gives the green light.

Two Years Later, the PXG Effect Continues to Spread

We’re coming up on three years since MyGolfSpy coined the phrase The PXG Effect as an attempt to encapsulate the upstart brands’ impact on the golf industry. Admittedly, part prognostication and part evidentiary sampling, it certainly appears a paradigm is shifting. It’s been nearly four years since the company launched, and somewhere between accident and intention, PXG has become a different type of family business while altering the standards by which the industry evaluates golf luxury. It’s n...

First Look – PUMA IGNITE PROADAPT Golf Shoe

I’m as excited about the new PUMA IGNITE PROADAPT as I have been any golf shoe in recent memory (insomuch as I get excited about shoes). Full disclosure, I get more excited about golf shoes than I probably should. What You Need to Know about IGNITE PROADAPT I’ll share the specific technologies in play in just a bit, but what has me amped for the PROADAPT comes down to two things: PUMA is often unconventional in its approach to golf shoe design, but the PROADAPT is as traditional as a PUMA g...

Mizuno RB Tour/RB Tour X: Does The World Really Need Another Tour-Level Golf Ball?

There are fundamental truths in this world one can’t really argue with. One of those is if you want to play golf, you’re going to need golf balls. Let’s pause and allow the brilliance of that observation sink in. Another fundamental truth is where there’s a need, there will always be battalions of people with machinery making stuff to fill that need, troops of marketers convincing you you can’t live without it, and a cadre of salespeople making sure you buy theirs. Case in point – hit the PGA To...

The GOAT: Woods and Miller get testy, Palmer and Norman get a shot at revenge as match play begins

Editor's note: In the April issue, in the last story Dan Jenkins did for Golf Digest before his death at 90, he introduced our Greatest of All Time Invitational—The GOAT. In the May issue and online daily from March 20 through April 3, Senior Writer Guy Yocom is documenting the 30 match-play results leading to the final at Pebble Beach. To the surprise of no one, Hogan's first act upon arriving at the tee was to fix his withering “blue blades” glare upon Koepka, hoping—expecting—Koepka...

Who's the Greatest: Tiger or Jack?

Your browser does not support iframes. I RAN ACROSS THIS CLIP from The Players Championship. Tiger Woods answered the question with good humor. The career wins (major and other) of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, the two greatest players of their eras, are pretty similar overall and miles ahead of everyone else. So, who's the GOAT? And what's your criteria?(I know Tiger isn't finished. He might bag a few more wins.)I've often noticed that one's answer to this question depends on their age. There's ...
