'They should all be worried': Google's move to bring shoppable ads to image searches should terrify Amazon, Instagram, and Pinterest

How I started traveling the world on my own, thanks to Google

I took my first solo vacation in June 2017, and the experience changed my life. After countless searches of Norway’s beautiful landscapes on Google Images, I decided to make the trip there all by myself. The following year, I took my second solo trip, this time to New Zealand. After that, I knew I didn’t want to wait until my retirement to travel—I wanted to do this full-time. So I decided to quit my job this past June, exactly one year after my first solo trip, to make travel my career. It was ...

Google Images Now Display Shoppable Ads

Google wants to become your digital shopping catalog through shoppable ads. The company on Tuesday said it is testing a new format on a small percentage of traffic with select retailers. How to reverse search an image on Google with your phone, tablet, or computer

You can search Google with an image when a simple word search is insufficient.   A "reverse image search" returns similar images, websites that use that particular image, and websites related to the subject of your image.   Google Images is a great place to do a traditional search for pictures of tuxedo cats or skull tattoos. You can also do a reverse image search to find information about a specific photo or graphic. There are other reverse image search tools , but Google Images is rob...

Is This a Photo of J.Lo in 1999 or 2019?

Let's do the time warp again. Before Jennifer Lopez necessitated the creation of Google Images in 2000 after that unforgettable Versace gown at the Grammys, she arrived at the 1999 ceremony wearing a gold dress that almost necessitated sunglasses. But upon further inspection, it's not just the outfit that's giving us pangs of nostalgia — and probably having Kylie and Kendall running to their closets for a throwback look — it's the realization that Lopez definitely hasn't...

Why does Google show mysterious art when searching two random 4-letter words!

The internet is an inherently strange place. I mean, the fact we call it a place at all shows how we lack the vocabulary to really express what it is. You know, like this: This bizarre occurrence was spotted by Reddit user Yanekke and shared on the social networking site. If you’re dubious, give i...

Google Images Best Practices Guide Updated, But What Changed?

Google announced yesterday on Twitter that they updated their Google Images best practices guide. I did a compare of the old and new pages, and for the most part, it seems like there is no new specific advice. Google adds creator credit to Images
