House Judiciary Recommends Barr Be Held In Contempt Over Mueller Report

By a 24-16 vote, the House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to recommend holding Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt for his refusal to turn over to Congress an unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report and its underlying materials. President Trump asserted executive privilege Wednesday over the documents, which the Committee had sought via subpoena. The vote escalated the ongoing standoff between Congress and the Trump administration over House Democrats’ e...

Potus says Waters has a low IQ --- dumb things that politicians say

I got a chuckle when President Trump declared that Maxine Waters had a low IQ. Then it dawned on me... holy ****, she does! At first blush, I thought wowser, he will be roasted 24x7 by the media calling him racist. I'm sure most of you astute political watchers can recall some of the most puzzling things politicians have ever uttered. One of my favorite ones was this... 'Rep. The Country Club Republican Strikes Back

ROSWELL, Georgia ― Once upon a time, Georgia’s 6th Congressional District might have flickered into your mind while you contemplated the Republican electorate. Suburban and white, this collection of affluent commuter towns 45 minutes north of Atlanta is a maze of spiraling subdivisions, upscale retail stores and well-funded schools ― a veritable paradise of automatic sprinkler systems, Mercedes-Benz GLS-classes and C-suite types with names like Chet, Bobby and Judd. It’s not surprising, the...

ATL Dem Who Supports Transit Now on House T&I

It also means that metro Atlanta, and the Fourth District in particular, ...

Donald Trump's Path To 300 House Votes On Infrastructure Runs Through The Black Caucus

WASHINGTON ― Donald Trump opponents have been urging Democrats since the day after the election to offer the incoming president nothing but across-the-board resistance to his agenda. Anything else, the argument goes, is tantamount to an endorsement of racism, misogyny and Islamophobia. Liberal magazine writers have been particularly outspoken in support of the strategy of all-out opposition, arguing that only complete obstruction will drive Trump’s approval numbers low enough for Democrats t...

Senators Ask DEA To Delay Plans To Criminalize Another Herb

More than 10 senators are calling on the Drug Enforcement Administration to suspend plans to make the herbal supplement kratom a Schedule I substance until Congress can review the agency’s decision. The requests, sent this week to acting DEA Administrator Chuck Rosenberg, build on a similar move in the House. “Given the long reported history of Kratom use, coupled with the public’s sentiment that it is a safe alternative to prescription opioids, we believe using the regular review process would...

Bills crucial to protect voting systems, integrity of elections

In the wake of the DNC server hack and well-documented efforts by states to suppress the vote, citizens are rightly concerned about the accuracy and access of our voting systems. We must work to reduce the vulnerability of our crucial voting systems, protect the security and integrity of our electoral process, and ensure all Americans have the opportunity to vote. That's why on Sept. 21, I introduced the "Election Infrastructure and Security Promotion Act of 2016" (H.R. 6073) that requires the ...

WATCH: Exposing a Questionable Practice Cloaked in Religion

The Devil is reputed by some to have had all the best tunes. But those claiming to be on the side of the angels can often have the better technique. Sometimes, though, they will employ that advantage in what amounts to an abuse of power bordering on the devilish. The abuse I'm reporting on here this week (and also on PBS television, see below) has its roots in a business technique that's become common throughout the financial world. It's the growing practice - among organizations of all kinds - ...
