Per the Star Advertiser, Hawaii Island Mayor Kim has received tentative approval to require out-of-state passengers who have taken a pre-travel test to take a second test upon arrival. The plan for a second test is pending approval by the state attorney general.

For three days in a row last week, Hawaii recorded new record high numbers of COVID-19 cases. The highest daily number so far is 73 cases recorded on July 25th. Through July 28th, Hawaii has recorded 1,757 cases with most of those (1,429 cases) being on Oahu.

Yuliya’s shot was taken in Waikoloa on Hawaii (Big) Island. We have seen many honu (turtles) relaxing along the shoreline in Waikoloa. In fact, the entire Kohala Coast is an excellent place to see Hawaiian sea turtles.
Honu come onto the beaches to rest. So, if you see one, please give them their space so they can relax and rejuvenate. A distance of at least 10 feet or 3 meters is recommended.
