Welcome to The Great G/O Media Recipe Exchange

My favorite part of the holiday season, next to family time and watching every Hallmark movie ever created, is the food. My mom and grandma make homemade kremas (think eggnog, but Haitian and much better) and my sisters and I eat dozens of Christmas cookies, while my dad judges us all for forcing our dogs into…Read more...

How To Prepare Your Online Store For The Holiday Season During COVID-19

by Joseph Heller, CEO & Founder of The/Studio Technologies and SuppliedShop.com We’re already getting super hyped for the holiday season. From delicate snowfalls to generous gift-giving to spending time with family and loved ones, it really is the most wonderful time of the year. The Danger of Retail Therapy this Holiday Season…and Beyond

Have you ever found yourself buying something you don’t need, just to make yourself happy? Do you spend more when you’re stressed? “Retail therapy” is one method of stress relief that many people employ consciously or unconsciously. Simply put, it’s the act of buying yourself a little something to boost your mood when you’re feeling low, and it may be more common than you think. Retail therapy (and even its more intense cousin, compulsive shopping) may be more common than people realize. On...

The Hawaii holiday season is upon us once again in the Aloha State. It’s true: we lack the makings of a “white Christmas”, roasting chestnuts, or jolly sleigh rides out here in the tropics. But there are dozens of holiday events in Hawaii to make even the staunchest holiday traditionalist feel at home during the […] The post Hawaii’s best holiday season festivities appeared first on Hawaii Aloha Travel.

Destressing Holiday Travel

“Over the meadow and through the woods. To Grandmother’s house we go…” It’s a wonderful, nostalgic song about traveling by sleigh to the grandparents’ house for the holidays. But make no mistake: The song and reality seldom matched. That sleigh ride in midwinter snow was cold! Bitterly cold. The horse could flounder in the drifts. The sleigh could get stuck or slip off the trail. Meanwhile the kids in the back were saying, “Are we there yet?”  Travel these days should be easier, but it’s of...

Do’s and Don’ts for Buying Christmas Toys

It was a total Christmas fail. With great fanfare, my well-intentioned brother-in-law gave my 2.5 year old son a 2-foot tall robot for Christmas. It was jet black. It had red flashing eyes. It shot a ray gun with a rat-a-tat-tat. My brother-in-law was so excited when he pulled it from the box — but my son was terrified. He ran behind me and peered out at the thing, saying “No! No! No!” His favorite uncle was crushed. He thought he’d brought him the perfect toy. Before you run out to get the...

Dealing with Deep Sadness During the Holidays

Holidays aren’t always joyful, blissful, nor magical. Instead, they can mark a season of not just situational stress and sadness — but one of deep melancholy.  There are many reasons that can contribute to holiday depression. Some factors include dysfunctional family dynamics (which are often thrown in one’s face more often during holiday get-togethers), unrealistic expectations of holiday merriment, financial issues, the loss of a loved one, and the year’s-end introspection about whether one...

5 Reasons It’s Financial Ruin If You’re Not Monitoring Your Online Business

Poor digital experience can kill your business. 57% of shoppers have left a slow e-commerce site and then bought from a similar retailer; 23% of shoppers subsequently never returned to the site, according to Yottaa. So even if you provide a positive customer experience nine out of 10 times, the one time you don’t could be fatal. And while a little downtime here and there is something consumers generally handle without problem, continued downtime, issues with performance, or issues affecting cri...
