Man stabbed to death on Nordhoff Place in Chatsworth

LOS ANGELES — A man was stabbed to death late Sunday in Chatsworth. The stabbing was reported about 11:15 p.m. Sunday at 19775 Nordhoff Place, said Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center. Officers found the 30-year-old man suffering from stab wounds, Orris said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Brush fire near Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale stopped at 15 acres

A vegetation fire burned near the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale on Sunday afternoon, August 1, and was stopped at 15 acres by firefighters, authorities said. The fire was reported at 4:26 p.m. near 15501 East Arrow Highway and was influenced by hot and dry conditions, said Capt. Ron Haralson, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
