Houston Methodist Hospital suspends 178 employees for failing to get vaccinated

A hospital in Houston, disappointed that 178 employees didn't take their patient's health first, has suspended them for two weeks. If the employees do not get vaccinated by June 21st, they will be terminated. Mathematical method developed to predict cancer and drug-specific immunotherapy efficacy

Houston Methodist researchers have developed a mathematical model to predict how specific cancers will respond to immunotherapy treatments, thus enhancing chances for successful treatments from a wide variety of cancer-immunotherapy drug combinations. Experimental glioblastoma therapy shows curative powers in mice models

Houston Methodist researchers used a second-generation prodrug called MP-Pt(IV) to target the deadly cells of glioblastoma tumors and found mice harboring human glioblastoma tumors in their brains had greatly enhanced survival and weight gain when given the newly developed prodrug. This mitochondrial-targeted prodrug also greatly improves outcomes when coupled with standard therapies of radiation and/or chemotherapy. The study was published Oct. 8 in Molecular Cancer Therapeutics.
