The Dolphin House, a documentary on John Lilly and Margaret Howe's attempts to communicate with dolphins

When I was a teen seeker and consciousness tweaker, books like John C. Lilly's Man and Dolphin and Programming and Metaprogramming the Human Biocomputer were my jam. Then his Ketamine use got more extreme (up to 24 injections a day) and his writings became too bizarre and unintelligible even for a space cowboy like myself. — Read the rest

Horses' facial expressions similar to those of humans

Horses use 17 discrete facial movements in communication, compared to 27 for people, 16 for dogs, and 13 for chimpanzees. University of Sussex researchers determined this by studying the musculature under a horse's face and watched videos of horses of all ages and multiple breeds. This enabled the scientists to create a catalog of facial behavioral sequences named EquiFACS (Equine Facial Action Coding System.) From National Geographic: Jennifer Wathan, the study’s lead author, says the sim...

Behind the Scenes of My Animal Communication Classes

Let Your Inner Communicator Shine Through!  Learn to communicate intuitively with animals in this 4-week online class That’s the ‘official’ heading I use for my animal communication classes. I like it, in my opinion it says a lot, but I thought you might like to see some of the unofficial, behind the scenes things that take place in putting the class together. For instance, I’m not the only instructor in the class. What would an animal communication class be without having animal professors?...

The Return of the Listeners: A Story

Are you ready to step into your role as a Listener? This post is actually a unit from the beginning animal communication classes I teach. It’s a story about how we humans lost our ability to communicate with animals, and how it is now returning. This story came to me one day in meditation: it came suddenly, completely and in one setting. I was explicitly told this story is to be told and retold as it’s not a story for one; it is a story for all, and one I invite you to share. A Story: Th...

Once you are open to using your intuition and become comfortable...

How To Communicate With Animals When Worried

As I’m working with my students in the beginning animal communication classes, one thing that comes up sooner or later in the class, and usually from more than one person, is they are worried about communicating with the animals. The worry comes in many guises. Sometimes it’s about the process of animal communication itself: Worry they’re making up the information Worry they can’t connect to the animal Worry the animal won’t talk to them Worry they won’t get enough information Worry the animals...

How I Use Animal Communication in My Life

The other day I was chatting with a long-time client and she remarked, “You know, Janet, you’re always checking in with my animals and telling me what they have to say (pregnant silence), but I have to ask you this: do you communicate with your own animal family?” Very valid question, and I have to admit it took me for a loop for a couple of minutes. The reason it silenced me was because I do it so very often that I’m not aware I’m doing it, and I’m just as consciously unaware of them conversing...
