[TFB GUNFEST] Looking Closer At The KelTec P50

During TFB’s GunFest 2021, we had the chance to talk with KelTec about their new P50 pistol, chambered in 5.7×28. Despite its unveiling last month, we were able to ask some of the most frequently asked questions about this newly designed KelTec P50 pistol. KelTec also expounded on some of the design features they worked […] Read More … The post [TFB GUNFEST] Looking Closer At The KelTec P50 appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Introducing the New P50 5.7x28mm Pistol from KelTec

Just in time for TFB’s Gun Fest 2021 KelTec has dropped an interesting new pistol into the firearms market with the KelTec P50. The P50 is a unique looking pistol chambered in the 5.7×28mm cartridge and uses genuine FN P90 magazines, although in the P50 the magazines feed upside down! The KelTec P50 pistol will begin […] Read More … The post Introducing the New P50 5.7x28mm Pistol from KelTec appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Springfield Armory Hellcat, Micro-Compact Optic Ready Pistol – Review

Springfield Hellcat U.S.A. –-( It feels like just yesterday that options for deep concealment micro pistols were quite limited. People would debate between Seecamp, Kel-tec, J-frames, and the G26. On occasion the Beretta Tomcat, Colt’s 1903 and 1908 models would enter into the conversation. Later, Kahr came on the scene and broke new ground. Bringing single stack, lightweight, striker-fired options to the table. Though it took time others have followed. I’m no fan of Keltec (or ...

Bullpup Overview: Which Bullpup Rifle is Right for You?

U.S.A. -( Bullpup rifles have been around since the early 20th century, but the first mainstream design didn't arrive until the late 1970s with the Steyr AUG. Since then, the AUG and the French FAMAS have shaped the public perception of bullpups despite a much wider variety of designs on the market. Most new designs have been unavailable in the US due to the 1989 restrictions on imports. So Americans don't have access to most foreign designs like those from China, Croatia, and S...

Discontinued: We Bid Farewell to the KelTec P11 Subcompact

Just as Shot Show 2020 was getting underway on January 20th, KelTec announced via their website and YouTube channel that the venerable P11 would be discontinued. The KelTec P11 was produced in 1995 and was the first double-stack polymer-framed subcompact pistol to be brought to the market. In true KelTec fashion, the companies YouTube channel […] Read More … The post Discontinued: We Bid Farewell to the KelTec P11 Subcompact appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

New for SHOT: Kel-Tec CP33 .22 LR Pistol w/ 33 round magazine

Kel-Tec CP33 .22 LR Pistol 33 round magazine Arizona -( The long awaited Kel-Tec .22 LR pistol, with a 33 round magazine, has arrived at the Shot Show. The pistol is designated the CP33. It is a straight blowback design, which is simpler than the delayed blowback needed for the .22 rimfire magnum cartridges used in the PMR-30. The magazine design was patented by Toby Obermeit, lead engineer at Kel-Tec, in 2014. When I found out about it at the Shot Show in 2015, I thought a .22 ...

Kel-Tec?s secret is out: The KS7 shotgun and CP33 pistol are here

Two new guns will be presented by Keltec at SHOT SHow 2019: KS7 shotgun and CP33 pistol. KS7 is the lighter, slimmer evolution of KSG line, with a single 7-shot tube (extendable to 10, and also available with a longer barrel). It’s a pound lighter than KSG empty, about two pounds lighter loaded.   The[.....] The post Kel-Tec’s secret is out: The KS7 shotgun and CP33 pistol are here appeared first on Read the full article here...

Kel-Tec Issues Sub-2000 Recall

Late last week, Kel-Tec Weapons issued a voluntary recall of specific Sub-2000 rifles manufactured during their 2017 production run. According to Kel-Tec: We have recently identified an issue with the heat treatment of certain steel tubes received from a third‐party supplier from which the barrels for a limited number of Kel‐Tec SUB‐2000 rifles were manufactured. Advertising: For Those Who’d Drink Their Own Urine, the RDB Survival

What we would do “if we had to” hopefully we’ll never have to find out. In the last edition of Recoil magazine (and perhaps elsewhere, but that’s where I found this image) KelTec suggests their ad that people who would drink their own urine also should get their 5,56 mm RDB Survival bullpup firearm. Now […] Read More … The post Advertising: For Those Who’d Drink Their Own Urine, the RDB Survival appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Keltec?s RDB-S: What It Actually Is

Kel-tec RDB-S is not out yet, but it’s become slightly infamous thanks to a creative ad agency. Expected in retail stores by Spring 2018, it’s a lightweight variant of the RDB-C rifle. Unusually for a bullpup, it has a variable length stock — extended, it brings the overall length past the legally mandated 26 inches.[.....] The post Keltec’s RDB-S: What It Actually Is appeared first on Read the full article here...

The Keltec (not quite ready for Combat) KSG Shotgun

I bought a KSG the other day. I had wanted to get one back when they were $1200 but I had a hard time spending $1200 on a $700 shotgun that was retailing for $800 that would not increase in value over the long term. Right now they are retail for around $990 and clearing the door at around $700 + transfer fees so I figured it was time. From a combat standpoint pump action shotguns are awkward affairs that compare poorly to carbines and semi-automatic rifles. They have niche uses but the poor s...

Justification for buying a Keltec CMR 30

I love my Keltec PMR 30 .22 mag pistol. It is the most accurate pistol I own. I'm on-paper every shot at 100 yards. Can't do that with a 9 mm, that is for sure. And having a pistol loaded with 30 rounds is awesome. The other day I was walking my dog deep in the woods and encountered an ******* with seven trained fighting dogs, each of them around 100 pounds. I found myself squared off against a total of about 700 pounds of vicious dog plus a guy. They were off leash and quite intent upon ...

Modern Personal Defense Weapon Calibers 009: The .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire

So far in the Modern PDW Calibers series we’ve talked about small caliber, high velocity PDW rounds like the 5.7mm FN and 4.6mm HK, and we’ve tackled larger, punchier calibers like the 10mm Norma Auto and the 7.5mm FK. However, we still have not tackled the very extreme low end of the spectrum, that is […] Read More … The post Modern Personal Defense Weapon Calibers 009: The .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Review: Salvo 12 Revisited Different Shotguns And Different Ammo

Nathan S. did a great review of the Salvo 12. However there were a couple shotguns he did not test it on. Any first-hand experience with Rem. RM380?

I own enough guns that when I finally got around to getting my LTC (Texas CHL's are now License To Carry since we can wear 'em on our hips if we choose) I didn't figure picking one to carry around would be a problem. With my preference for older, steel guns, however, I find that's not so, and I want to shave off some ounces. I'm interested in learning more about the Remington RM380. (If there's a thread here, I'm sorry, I couldn't find it.) Apparently it's built on the Rorhbaugh 9mm design that...

Did I do ok with this trade?

So I recently stopped by my LGS with the intent to see how much I could get for my POS KelTec PLR 16. In the store there was a lonely PPS43c sitting there on a rack. I picked it up and inquired about its price which I was informed was $499. A little high to me for what it was but the owner told me it was buy one get one free! The second one Was only free because the barrel shroud was totally warped and needed replacing and he didn't feel right selling it even marked down. Well I asked if he woul...

Advice, please

I have a bit of cash squirreled away from a gift from my parents. I have been saving it, but I think it's time to spend some of it and I wondering the best path forward on that. My job recently moved about 30 miles from the house. Should I really get stranded out there trying to make my way back, I would really like something a little more than my Glock 19. I drive an SUV, so I would also like to bring it into the office rather than leaving it out in the car all day where it could be stolen. I'...

Polycase ARX/Inceptor Ammo in .380= blew up BG

Just a heads up, I was able to locate some of the new Polycase ARX/Inceptor ammo in .380, bought 4 boxes. I researched the round, seemed worth trying as a carry round. I fired 6 rounds of FMJ to warm up, then loaded 5 rounds of the Interceptor. Upon touching off the first round, the gun nearly exploded in my hand. Even broke the bullet in the next round in the magazine. Luckily, I was wearing gloves and wrap around eye protection. Debris showered my face, and the frame is split right down the en...
