Disneyland teases Indiana Jones-themed bar for expansion project

An Indiana Jones restaurant and bar at Walt Disney World themed as a pilot hangout in an airplane hangar is one example of the high-end “eatertainment” concepts that Disneyland could build under a reimagined long-term vision for the Anaheim theme park resort district. Disneyland teased Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World as one of the potential restaurant concepts that could be part of a proposed expansion plan during a DisneylandForward webinar. Niles: Theme parks’ missing preshows are important, too

Like many fans, I am happy to see California’s theme and amusement parks reopening safely now that COVID-19 infection rates are dropping, and vaccination rates are increasing across the state. Having the parks closed for 13 months showed many of us the immense economic and emotional value of these destinations — value that we lost while the parks were closed. But the parks’ return is a phased reopening, with many popular elements unavailable for now, including parades, fireworks and big producti...

The Buena Park theme park reopened with rides and attractions to season passholders on Thursday, May 6 after a 418-day closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic that began in March 2020. The park hosted a series of food festivals without rides during the pandemic...

As yellow tier arrives, some LA County coronavirus rules remain tougher than state’s

Striding into the least-restrictive yellow tier of the state’s economic-reopening blueprint, Los Angeles County will deploy its loosest business restrictions since the pandemic began on Thursday, May 6. But some rules in the county’s public health ordered will remain tougher than the state’s, including a 75% capacity cap at grocery and retail stores. Pasadena and Long Beach were a step ahead of the county, enacting eased guidelines on Wednesday, including the reopening of indoor bars. The county...

The new version of the Knott’s Bear-y Tales ride closely follows the story line of the original 1975 attraction created by Disney Legend Rolly Crump that fans have been asking Knott’s Berry Farm to bring back to the park for decades. “It’s a return to the original,” Knott’s producer Eric Nix said during a media preview for the ride. “That was the idea of this version of Bear-y Tales. LA County reports no new coronavirus deaths again, although reporting lags contribute

Although the numbers are likely due to weekend reporting lags, Los Angeles County announced zero COVID-19 deaths for the second day in a row on Monday, May 3, as the public health director expressed confidence the county will move up to the least-restrictive tier of the economic-reopening blueprint this week. COVID-19 case and death numbers are traditionally low on Sundays and Mondays as a result of delays in reporting from the weekend, but the back-to-back days of zero deaths still offered a gl...
