The Senate Sits on Commonsense Gun Reform While Americans Die

August 31, 2019 began as a normal day. It was a normal day for a Texas trucker who was driving home from work. Same for a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, who was on his way into work. It was a normal day for an El Paso man who was driving to see his wife and four kids. And it was a normal day for a 29-year-old postal worker, who was driving her usual route while she chatted on the phone with her twin sister. Then, because of America’s lax gun laws, they were all shot and killed during a ...

The Raiders just scored a huge victory in Las Vegas, months before they’ll even play a game in their new home. In a move that raised some eyebrows in Nevada, the Raiders sold their unfinished Henderson, Nev. headquarters and practice facility for $191 million and immediately leased it back, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday. By flipping the 55.6 acres of land they purchased at a cut rate two years ago from the city of Henderson for about $6 million (about half the property’s value)...

UCLA women need to fix slow-start issue during final homestand

LOS ANGELES — The ninth-ranked UCLA women’s basketball team has lost to unranked teams just twice this season. The first came in a double-overtime thriller at rival USC on Jan. 17, while the second came last weekend at Washington. Once again, UCLA opened a game unable to string together an effective run and fell behind by double digits in the first half. However, unlike their most recent come-from-behind wins, the Bruins couldn’t create enough momentum to dig out of the early hole against the Hu...

Fury's promoter urges Wilder to ditch rematch rights

Tyson Fury's promoter Frank Warren has urged Deontay Wilder to take a payment to waive his rights for another rematch with the WBC heavyweight champion. Fury beat Wilder in Las Vegas at the weekend and Warren wants him to face WBA, IBF and WBO title holder Anthony Joshua in an all-British unification bout. Warren hopes Wilder, beaten for the first time in 44 professional fights, can be persuaded to ditch that agreement with the right financial offer.

What To Expect In Tonight’s Debate: Biden Needs The Palmetto State

The Democratic presidential contenders have one final chance Tuesday night to make their pitch, live in prime time, to Democratic voters in 15 states. Over the span of only a couple decades Southern California’s casinos have grown from small-scale gaming operations to full-fledged resorts boasting hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues and more.
