Bucks fans taunt Kawhi with series of Clippers chants

Kawhi Leonard's future after the 2018-19 playoffs conclude is subject to league-wide interest and many believe that the Toronto Raptors standout will be joining the Los Angeles Clippers this summer. It appears that Milwaukee Bucks fans are trying to will this idea into existence. During the third quarter of Friday's Game 2 between the Bucks and Raptors, the Fiserv Forum couldn't help but troll Leonard with an “LA's calling” chant while he was at the free-throw line.

Will huge LAUSD parcel tax measure start a statewide trend?

Local elections held in odd-numbered years in California don’t generally have much meaning outside their immediate communities. But a June 4 vote scheduled in Los Angeles might be different. This is a yes/no decision on a huge parcel tax proposed by the local school district, the second largest in America. So nothing should divert voter attention away from the parcel tax vote, and a very light turnout can be expected. A large portion of those who vote may belong to groups standing to benefit fro...

Report: Clippers agree to new contract with Jerry West

The Los Angeles Clippers have one of the best front offices in the NBA, and now it should remain stable. After a rough start to his tenure owning the team, Steve Ballmer decided to let the basketball experts do what they do best, hiring a front office squad that included Jerry West. As a special consultant, West has been part of the team with GM Michael Winger that helped Los Angeles to be more than the sum of their parts this season.

What will Warriors' rotation look like without Kevin Durant in West finals?

Vegas has a new favorite to land Kyrie Irving, and it isn't the Knicks or Celtics

Oddly enough, the sportsbook at Caesars Palace doesn't see any of those as the most likely options. Brooklyn Nets favored to land Kyrie Irving Yes, the Brooklyn Nets are apparently the favorites to land Kyrie Irving after an ascendant season built around young talent. Trailing behind the Nets are the Knicks, Celtics and Lakers, with the Los Angeles Clippers coming in fifth.

Klay Thompson reportedly could lean Clippers over Lakers? It will not matter.

Adrian Wojnarowski — the NBA's preeminent scoop master — was on ESPN's Get Up this morning and talked about the “seismic change” expected to come to the Warriors this summer when Kevin Durant leaves (likely for the Knicks, according to basically everyone around the league). “If they come with a five-year, $190 million max deal for Klay Thompson, that's done on July 1 — he's going into the new building with Stephen Curry. If they try to do anything less than that, you can expe...

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said DeMarcus Cousins is "progressing with his rehab" but there is "nothing significant" to report following his quadriceps injury. 2019 NBA West Semifinal: Golden State Versus Houston

We now have all the conference semifinal games finalized after the Nuggets barely got by the Spurs in Game 7. In the East, the Toronto Raptors and Kawhi Leonard dominated the 76ers in Game 1 of the East semifinals. Steve Kerr: Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry both questionable for Game 1 with sprained ankles

Walking the Staples Center hallway after the Warriors eliminated the Clippers Friday night, both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry showed a little bit of a limp after rolling their ankles during the game. Thompson's limp was more pronounced. Saturday, less than 24 hours before Golden State tips off round two against Houston, Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't have a lot of new information but called both questionable for the game.

Alexander: These Clippers were an example worth following

If you are a high school or youth basketball coach in Southern California – or anywhere, really  – you probably owe a debt of gratitude to Doc Rivers and his Clippers players. Thank you cards, care of the Clippers’ offices, would work. Maybe even an edible bouquet, if you’re particularly ambitious. The team, coach and organization deserve your gratitude because of the lessons you can pass on to your own players after the Clippers’ improbable 2018-19 journey. They’ve demonstrated the virtues of s...

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson both questionable for Game 1 vs. Rockets

The problem with the Golden State Warriors needing six games to eliminate the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round is the unnecessary wear and tear, and potential injuries. Unfortunately for them, the latter is going to be an issue heading into Game 1 of a heavily anticipated second round matchup against the Houston Rockets on Sunday at Oracle Arena. Both Splash Brothers — Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson — are questionable with sprained ankles suffered in the Warriors' Game 6 win over th...

Whicker: Clippers ride a long way on effort, but next year will require something more

LOS ANGELES — Rarely has a team basked in such love because it did its job. You wonder if it says more about the Clippers, who swam upstream to win 48 games and made Golden State break a furious sweat in the first round, or the NBA, where “effort” and “energy” are praised profusely because they’re not always seen. The Clippers started strongly against Golden State and then wilted under the relentless raindrops of Kevin Durant and the human smorgasbord that is Draymond Green. The Warriors won Gam...

LOS ANGELES — Most of the time, a life must end to earn its proper commemoration. Behold John Havlicek. He passed away Thursday, at 79. His Ohio State teams won an NCAA championship and were 78-6. He was a nonstop dervish on the court who could score from random parts of the parquet and was an All-Defense selection five times. Citizens’ lawsuit to block LA Clippers arena in Inglewood can go to trial, judge rules

A lawsuit that could unwind the Los Angeles Clippers’ plans to move to Inglewood cleared a major roadblock this week. On Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mary Strobel ruled against efforts to quash the litigation, which accuses Inglewood of violating a state law requiring public agencies to give priority to affordable housing developers and other government entities when selling public land. Kerr rips Warriors after Clippers loss

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr accused his team of taking victory for granted on Wednesday as the NBA champions slumped to an upset 129-121 playoff defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors had looked set to advance into a Western Conference semi-final showdown with Houston, needing only a victory on home turf against the eighth-seeded Clippers to complete a 4-1 series victory. But a 45-point display from Kevin Durant could not mask a shoddy Warriors defensive performance whi...
