Men's Track and Field: Matt Wilkinson runs steeple at Mike Fanelli Classic

Sophomore Matt Wilkinson spent a portion of his spring break in Northern California where he raced the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. The event, formerly called the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, features a loaded field, with 19 of the 66 runners from NCAA Division I programs and another 15 from Division II teams.

Men's Track and Field: Lucas Mueller advances to 3K final at NCAA Indoor Championships

On day one of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, Carleton College sophomore Lucas Mueller advanced to the finals of the 3000-meter run after winning his prelims heat with a time of 8:24.26. Senior Tris Dodge clocked a time of 8:30.03, placing him 15th overall in the same event. Matt Wilkinson will race in the 5000-meter finals at 7:45 p.m. ET/6:45 p.m. CT on Friday evening.

On day one of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, Carleton College sophomore Matt Wilkinson overcame a footwear issue and became the latest member of the men’s track and field program to earn status as an All-American. He placed sixth in the finals of the 5000-meter run. Earlier in the day, classmate  Lucas Mueller advanced to the finals of the 3000-meter run.

Despite an early race recall and a pair of crashes, the Carleton College men’s cross country team still managed to finish 14th at the NCAA Division III Championships. Sophomores Lucas Mueller and Matt Wilkinson turned in the 24th and 25th All-America performances in program history as they placed 17th and 38th, respectively.
