The Opening Dance Scene in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Sums Up Why We Love These Movies

(Welcome to Great Moments in MCU History, where we fondly recall great little bits that made us fall in love with the MCU.) Once upon a time, Guardians of the Galaxy was not a beloved corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe featuring characters that would become eventually become Avengers. If you’d told me back in 2014 that both Rocket Raccoon and Nebula would be major players in the fourth Avengers movie, I would have had to look up who Nebula even was. In its sixth year of existenc...

‘WandaVision’ Will Also Channel More Recent Sitcoms Like ‘Modern Family’ and ‘The Office’

So far, Marvel’s teases of WandaVision have leaned heavily on the black and white, classic television sitcom world that Wanda Maxmioff and Vision find themselves living within. This makes the upcoming series on Disney+ unlike any Marvel Studios project we’ve seen before, but the emulation of classic sitcoms like I Love Lucy and Bewitched is just the beginning of WandaVision‘s journey through sitcom history. In a new interview, Marvel Studios boxx Kevin Feige said WandaVision‘s journey through s...

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Will Feel Like a New ‘Avengers’ Sequel

It looks like Thor: Love and Thunder is going to have such a big cast of Marvel players that it might end up feeling like Avengers 5. The Taika Waititi sequel is of course bringing back key players Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. But a new report points to a “sprawling cast” that suggests the film might follow in the footsteps of Captain America: Civil War – a movie that features multiple key Marvel characters without being a big Avengers sequel. In a new THR report abo...

After 12,523 Replacements, Feds Investigate Tesla Media Control Unit Failures

An anonymous reader quotes a report from Ars Technica: Is one of Tesla's infotainment systems defective by design? That's a question the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hopes to answer. It has started an engineering analysis after hundreds of customer complaints of bricked systems resulted in a preliminary investigation in June. NHTSA thinks it knows what the problem is: an 8GB eMMC NAND flash memory chip with a finite number of write cycles, fitted to its Media Control Unit. The ...

US officials are ramping up their investigation into faulty Tesla Model S and Model X touchscreens

The defective touchscreens can result in a loss of the backup camera and other important vehicle functions, the NHTSA said. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration escalated its investigation into defective touchscreens found on some Tesla Model X and Model S vehicles.  The agency upgraded its probe from a "preliminary evaluation" to an "engineering analysis." The issue impacts approximately 159,000 vehicles built from 2012 to 2018, and the next step in the investigatio...

Casual moviegoers/non-comic-book enthusiasts (who haven’t payed attention to the latest in Keanu Reeves fan art) are probably asking themselves: “Who is Moon Knight?” Similarly to how Hawkeye is basically Green Arrow and Namor resembles Aquaman, Moon Knight is Marvel’s response to DC’s Bruce Wayne...

‘WandaVision’ is Like “Six Marvel Movies” Packed Into a Sitcom

Anytime someone involved with a TV show says something like, “This isn’t really a TV show, it’s a 6/8/12-hour movie!”, I get a little nervous. Netflix does this all the time, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. More often than not, it results in some lopsided, poorly paced TV. But that’s not going to stop the folks behind WandaVision, darn it! The series is apparently taking the “movie broken into a TV show” approach according to cast member Teyonah Parris. But not just one movie,...

Kat Dennings Doesn’t Think She’ll Be Back For Thor: Love and Thunder

Kat Dennings Doesn’t Think She’ll Be Back For Thor: Love and Thunder When Thor: Ragnarok opened in 2017, it notably omitted a handful of supporting characters from the previous two Thor movies. One of the missing cast members was Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis, who served as a primary source of comic relief in the earlier films. Later this year, Dennings will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Disney+’s WandaVision series. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like this will lead to more adventu...

(Welcome to Great Moments in MCU History, where we fondly recall great little bits that made us fall in love with the MCU.) Spider-Man! What a cutie pie.
